In micks years here he has had a solid Non conference record. However come BE play his record is abysmal (greatone, i realize this is a big word, grab a dictionary look it up.) Will this team prove history wrong? Thoughts.

I don't think I would characterize the team's play in the Big East as "abysmal"... mediocre is a better description, imo. The past three years have been: 8-10; 8-10 and 7-11. Far from your claim of being abysmal.

I think the 'Cats will do well, finish in the top 6 and return to the Dance. I'll say, 11-7.

If you take out the first year (2-14) with a team that definitely couldn't compete in the BE, the record has been subpar, not abysmal. But in Mick defense, he never had any players with experience and the record reflects this. As a comparison, look at Providence and how they did with seniors two years ago, and then their record last year. Having experience in a conference like the BE is crucial for any success. This team is a different team, and previous results are irrelevant.

I think this team has the defense to keep them in many games. I am going to go 8-8 and with the OOC record that should be an NCAA tournament team.

they play 18 conference games but i am going along with you and say an even 9-9. this team is much different than past teams. from game to game i see improvement better bball iq and just the overall hustle is better than i have seen. so it really wouldnt be a stretch to say 10-8 or 11-7 and nothing worse than a 6 seed

10-8.

They beat WVU, UL, UCONN, and Gtown at home. NCAA chances are on the line at the Mecca. The board rents a drunk bus to NYC.

By the way, this is really happening... if this really happens.

I think they will go 10-8 and if they find some scoring consistency and have a shot at 11-7. They need to do a better job preventing opponents from getting offensive rebounds. That will kill them in BEast play and they have to eliminate the scoreless stretches. Find a way to score or get to the line and score. If they can't do those two things it could be 8-10 or 7-11. Love their defensive intensity but I wish the non-conf had a couple measuring games. Right now it looks like the road trip to Oklahoma is going to be the closest thing to one.

8-8 is my prediction.

I also think we will go 2-1 games in the Big East tournament. I say we go 12-1 in our OOC so I think we end 22-10.

I think we beat a top 10 team as well.

I say we end the tournament streak with a 9 seed and win 1 game in the tournament.

5 of our first 8 BE games are "winnable" (Depaul, Seton Hall, USF, St. Johns, and Rutgers) so a quick start is crucial to having a good year in BE play. I like the way this team plays defense and while we may not have great depth, we do have people we can plug in and play effective minutes for short periods which is very important throughout the grind of the BE schedule..... I will go with 9-7 with 1, maybe 2 wins in the BE tourney depending on our matchups.

Don't forget there are 18 Big East games.

I think 10-8 is the worst this team will do. I think 12-6 is the best. If I had to bet, I would say 10-8 or 11-7.

It is hard to make a prediction on this but keep in mind that last year they were 8-10 and they blew the St. Johns game and also lost five other games by 6 points or less. They are a better team this year. I think they should win 11 games at the least considering their schedule is pretty favorable with the mirror games. I think they should get 4 of those games, plus I see 4 more they should win. Obviously anything can happen(and they had some meltdowns last season)but they have a really good shot at those 8 and I think they can find 3+ wins on top of these.

This is very hard to make a predicion right now but for the sake of doing so...I say we are going to lose 1 or 2 conference home games which means we will have to pick up 1 or 2 road games other than Depaul. I think we can do it...but it won't be easy.

12-1 OOC and 10-8 IC. 22-9 with one Beast tourney win...and we're dancin!

I dont post much but thought this was interesting and makes me kinda optimistic.

Reads pretty close to what I thought, but I also feel we have a shot to beat Providence and St. Johns on the road. We are currently 89th in the rpi, but we have 6 games against teams that are currently 13, 8th, 6th, 3rd, and 2nd in the rpi. SOS will increase dramatically in league play.

Realtimerpi predicts that UC will be 15-0 going into the Villanova game. They predict UC will finish 23-8; 10-8 in the Big East.

That would mean an NCAA berth in my opinion. I would take it. I still think 11-7 is very possible in conference.

There record is good in comparison to the other good teams in the conference, but in comparison to talent its a wonder how Cronin has won as many games as he has in this conference... There is so much talent and the possibility of a team not winning any games is good. Uc has done a wonderful job with the talent they have brought in... Id love to see a team like UK play in the Big east and then tell me how good our 8 to 9 win seasons really are...

21 wins and i think were dancing.. if we can win 9 to 10 games in conf. play then that means they beat some top talent. the chances of Uc beating 2 or 3 top 15 teams is there...
