Ok, so- Mid-majors celebrate sweet 16's. Right after you said UC started celebrating/hanging banners for tournament appearances...Good to know.

While I know Xavier got a break with lehigh, X did beat the third best team in the Big East.

There were 5 teams seeded ahead of ND in the bracket. And ND was a weak 7 seed.

I could be wrong, after Syracuse and Marquette I am not really sure where the teams finished.

They did finish third. They went on a nice run from the Syracuse game until the last two weeks of the season, but really struggled after that. They weren't as good as their third place finish suggested, but wins are wins and they earned them. Xavier's win over Notre Dame was a good win but nothing to write home about. They were two evenly matched teams for the most part. Louisville was seventh in the Big East this year and just picked apart the top Big Ten team and last year UConn was ninth and won the title. The Big East regular season is very weird. I think alot of it has to do with the unbalanced schedule and the horrible officiating from night to night. Some games neither teams get into the bonus and others both teams are shooting by the ten-minute mark. There's no consistency and they tend to show favoritism (and Notre Dame gets the best home cooking in the country).
