He says time after time his goal is to coach again somewhere i got a strange feeling NKU will try to hire him but im not sure Larry Davis would be interested. So anyway just curious your guys thoughts you have to think he will be mentioned in a ton of jobs and obviously i hope he returns i just dont believe he will

Larry stated post game he'd consider a good offer but is perfectly fine returning to associate head coach. I think nku will offer but Larry knows next year could be special and he is very close with these players so I don't think he'd take nku. I think what he's looking for is an offer from a bottom team in a power conference. Not saying this job is available but I think it'll take a boston college type offer for him to leave. He deserves any offer he gets

ya you would have to think it would have to be the right situation after leaving a coaching position already. well see i hope to have him back with him and cronin and this group i just think they can do big things

there will for sure be openings in a power 5 conference there already have been some firings it will just be curious to see if he is offered id be hard pressed to think he wont be in high demand though

Selfishly I say, Hopefully Coach Davis will be back but he certainly deserves to be considered for openings. Did a great job. If he goes the program will miss him.

I think he stays because of the unique bond he has built leading these players the last 3 months. The players really respond to him and he really loves these kids and the city of Cincinnati. What an advantage it will be to have "two" head coaches that these players want to lay it all on the line for every night. I really can't wait for next season.

You most definitely can tell he didn't recruit Mormon, Moore or Sanders.

I believe that is correct. Although that doesn't mean he didn't have any connections to those players in high school, he just wasn't the primary recruiter. I think Savino recruited Moore and Sanders, and Jackson recruited Mormon. Most of the players from the New York area were recruited by Savino I believe. He has the strongest ties to that area.

I thought black ball headed coach got Caupain and Mormon?

According to Rivals, Jackson recruited Mormon, and Davis recruited Caupain. Surely there was plenty of overlapping. I guarantee Jackson helped recruit Caupain as well. More than one coach can recruit a player, but Davis was the point man for Caupain.

Right. I made comment because coaches play players that they recruited heavy more than ones they didn't. At press conference I knew Davis was really close to Ellis. Davis recruits southeast, savino recruits northeast, Jackson recruits dmv

I've always considered it a good thing when an assistant lands a HC gig. First it looks good for Mick and will help him attract top assistants and second it allows the program to get some fresh blood in it with some different recruiting ties.

Absolutely. It's about time Cronin's coaching tree begins to sprout. Look at all the great coaches in college basketball and the coaches that have been assistants under them. Having a great coaching tree is a testament to the type of coach you are. I don't think Cronin has had an assistant that is a head coach elsewhere yet. Larry Davis would be a great fit somewhere.

Also it will be good to maybe get somebody with a different perspective. LD and Mick see things so similarly. That was great for this year, but it could help to have somebody that might see things from a different angle.
