Pretty classless quote from WVU's head football coach. I always thought Stewart was an "aw-shucks" kind of guy who had a lot of integrity. I found his quote in this article (found on page 2 of the link) to be pretty classless.

"Last year we won nine games," Stewart said. "One of those damn games the (replay) video booth beat us (at Cincinnati). I haven't said much about it, but I'm still pissed. But a video booth beat us."

I would expect such a thing from some guy over on a WVU board, but I think the commentary coming from the head coach is pretty weak IMO. Was it the last play of the game? Heck, it wasn't even the last play of the first half. Maybe if Coach Stew had gone for a field goal in the 4th quarter it would have been a different story. Or, maybe if UC hadn't basically let them score that last TD to run out clock at the end the Cats would have won by 2 scores?

Agreed. It's pretty chicken $hit to say that one play in the second quarter (that I believe they got right IMO) cost them the game. As you said, we were up by two scores at the end of the game. If we're only up 3 there's no way we let them move the ball all the way down the field in a minute and a half and score after we pretty much held them in check the entire game. BK was just always content to let the other team burn clock in those situations and play prevent. Our strategy in general would've been much different had it been up only 3. To say that one call cost them the game is like an 8 year old claiming the big kid 'cheated' when he took his ball from him.

Sounds like sour grapes to me... hey Bill, I usually like you much, much more than your predecessor, but shut up and play ball!!!
