There will be a lot of unhappy people this evening leaving the game. They will be clamoring for Mick's head just like they did with TT.

No no you got it backwards. We're 7-0 in AAC play. Tubby the Dinosaur was 1-7.

In my mind this game is not about Mick. Mick has prepared them well enough. Now we have to execute.

More about our senior guards showing out for their last chance to beat Xavier. Mick isn't shooting the ball or playing defense.

Only way it's on Coach is if he gets cute and tries to mess with the zone.

Let's hope you've nailed this prediction using the same crystal ball you used to tell us we'd rue getting rid of TT.

By the way, has he narrowed the list of major D1 schools vying for his coaching services yet?

Another game of the night in the sport on an ESPN network. Not bad! If playing on Thursday is what it takes, so be it.

Funny how you hate on mick so much but wanted to give TT every chance in the world. Only person gonna be disappointed on this thread tonight is you. GO CATS!

XU Fan, and I come in peace.

Looking forward to great matchup tonight.

Bluiett/Clark - Neutral. I believe these two will guard each other more so than Bluiett/Evans. Clark has shut Bluiett out in both prior matchups...given that Bluiett has been off lately, don't see much changing.

Evans/Bernard - Advantage UC...Evans is my favorite UC player by far, however I think this will be the matchup to watch. Bernard is very solid on D.

Gaston/Washington - Advantage UC. I remember Washington as a freshman for NC State and he was solid back then and can face up or play well with back to basket. Gaston strong on boards and defense. Additionally, XU has 2 bigs (Omara/Jones) that can play equally as well as Gaston. Although pounding the inside in not XU's strength this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see them do so early to try and get some fouls on Washington.

Caupain/Sumner - Advantage XU. Love both of these guys and Sumner's banged up pretty good currently but he can get to the rim and cause foul trouble on opponents. Based on media though, Caupain looks like this is personal...should be fun to watch.

Johnson/Macura - Advantage XU. Love the hometown kid but Macura is gritty and has a knack for scoring. He will turn the ball over and give up some easy transition points, however makes up for it both defensively and with natural talent.

Good luck tonight!

Also we need Gary to be like he was in his first shootout where he was pretty unstoppable.

Last year we had 2 players no longer with us combine for 8 of our 16 TO.

I think we can keep it under 10 in that category this year.

Also attack JP macura. He has mental lapse on defense all the time. He is good for the occasional steal but his overall defense is pretty lackluster. Attack him.

On paper SMU is a better team and we handled them. I'm excited to witness my first shootout live
Good point about the turnovers....Ellis was a to machine - on the negative side, our top 3 scorers from that game are no longer with us. (Ellis, Thomas & Cobb)

I guarantee Clark will not be an 0-fer this year, & Washington & Evans should make up for Ellis & Thomas's scoring with fewer to's.

It may (will) all depend on what kind of game we get from the guards...if Caupain & Johnson can bee effective & Jennifer & Cumberland make at least a modest contribution, that will be enough.
