Awesome seeing Brooks and Cumberland getting a real taste for the game. I feel for Washington. He shouldn't beat himself up over his FT. It's not a thing. I love having him on the team. He's very important to our success.
I told you we would beat them Jake

Free throws hurt him and he was not happy with himself, but 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 offensive, and 4 blocks. That's a good game for him

Clark with a double double the on a bad wheel. Mick said he didn't practice all week. We killed them on the glass and in the paint and he was a huge part of it.

Man, these games take months off my life. :)

I've been saying for a while that this team is going to lose a game because of FT shooting. Just glad it wasn't this one.

The big guys deserve some credit for controlling the paint. X struggled on the interior and we dominated them on the glass. Washington had 4 blocks, partially making up for his scary free throw shooting.

Cumberland is a bad, bad man. He was like a senior out there - stepped up to the challenge, showed great toughness. According to my nephew, who was seated in the front row of the student section, after scoring a layup late Cumberland turned to Macura and told him, "You can't guard me!" Truth, baby. Truth.

Sure things weren't perfect, but in the Shootout crazy things happen. It is a "throw out the records" game. This team showed amazing toughness and resilience, and you know what? The offense is good. Legit good. This is the second time this year a team went nuts from deep, and we beat them anyway.

Anyone wants to spend the aftermath whining about this or that not being great, fine. Go ahead. I'm just going to enjoy this.

Most happy for Mick. He inherited a dumpster fire and made steady progress under difficult conditions. While it may not have been as quick as we would have liked it to be we are a good program with a good coach with room to grow. Best part is he is a Cincinnati alum.

I don't think we appreciate how much better we play in the second half of games this year. We looked bad towards the end of the first half tonight. Came out, worked the ball inside again and tighten up the defense. It's happened more than once this year. Love the half time adjustments. This team is something else.
