The question (that I don't know the answer to) is whether he took a lot of shots because he was the only option on a bad team OR because he is a volume shooter at heart.

I get your point. Almost like Vaughn had to do before mick got some good players into the program

He did shoot 58 for 119 48.7% overall and 12 for 26 46.2% from 3 in the team's 7 wins.

Seems like maybe he shoots a ton and 1 out of 5 games he shoots well and they win.

I will be so happy if he ends ups here. KJ caupain Morman Cobb and mason. Mick would have plenty of options and he could bring in gelawn to man up on D

We would definitely have a crowded backcourt. Mason played 37.6 minutes per game last year. What would he get here? Do you just take away 5 minutes from each guard? I dont think that's it. I think what would happen is Morman would get squeezed out and Cobb would barely play. I can see how some people may argue that it would be worth it to do that.

If Mason comes do you redshirt Cobb or KJ?

Not sure. I want KJ and Caupain to play their 4 years together. KJ has the best looking shot in the AAC, he can put up now. I dont care as much about Cobb but I'm not crazy about keeping a JUCO around for 3 years.
Do we really want to lock into a 20 team summer recruiting battle for a 1 year guy in Mason? Jenifer is visiting soon, Beasley is cutting his list soon and has mentioned a possible summer decision, Evans just cut his list down and we made it so we need to keep working to get him on campus, and Cheatham has expressed interest and named us as a possible visit and will decide in September. I want to focus everything on getting 2 of these guys this summer/early fall then be completely flexible with the last scholarship.

Mick must not be sold on our young guards if he continues to reach out to every juco or transfer guard available. Mason starts if he comes here

I dont see him redshirting a juco guy. But im excited about Cobb. He got in some trouble, but has completely come around. His coaches have said he has the best work ethic they have ever seen. Which as someone who can shoot the way he does(idc who you are go to the gym and try to do what he did in that video not missing a 3) having great work ethic and wanting to learn is a great sign. Especially at UC when playing time is earned through hard work

It's as simple as this: if you can find a player to make your team better, you do. Plain and simple.

Haha hard to argue that logic. I dont think anyone will redshirt whether we get Mason or not. We need 5 bigs, especially since none were here last year and DeBerry was limited minutes in juco and Strickland had 0 games at all. And theres no reason to drag out the process with Cobb. He and Morman may just have to deal with very limited minutes if Mason comes in.

Mick always talking about not wasting year with players. If we have 13players I see 2players sitting out.

It was a trio with Morman, unless you redshirt Caupain and Johnson (which will never happen) If there was not a strong group of guards in 2015 would not be a bad idea for the future

It's not about being better. We have a scholarship available. Does he make your team better? If yes, you get him in you can. If not, then no thanks. Only the coaches can say for sure.
When you over recruit at positions the odd man out looks to transfer. We've lost 3 transfers over past 2yrs.

If we get Mason we can't rule out KJ redshirting

When ever I watched Butler play (WITH THEIR GREAT COACH) they played as a team. We all think by now Johnson and Caupin are special, it is only a thought, if they both red shirt how much better they would be. If we played the 1-2-3 with Shaq, Sanders, Martin, Cobb, Morman and Gyun . TWO years later we have Johnson, Caupin , Morman , Cobb, Shaq and who ever else we sign. All players mention are not one and done will only make them better. Only a thought.
