Did anyone see the new rivals rankings for 2010 JJ isnt even on the list anymore what a crock!!!! This kid was impressive in the florida tournament and was named MVP of every tournament he was in. Also in the Jack jones shootout he was very impressive. If he had comitted to uk he would be a 4 star im so tired of this but maybe it will make him work harder!!!

A lot of it could have been from a lack of exposure from AAU ball. He always seems to produce when he is out there and whether it is from pure work ethic or skill, doesn't matter too much to me. Plus Rivals only really has one guy evaluating talent any more. That said, whether JJ was ranked #1 or #500 won't change how he plays this year so it isn't good for anything but hype. I'm very excited for him to come to UC. Very athletic, relentless motor.

Rivals' rankings are worthless IMO. Always have been. Any site that ranked BJ Mullens as the #1 overall player can't have any credibility. I've seen him too much in HS to know the rankiings must be bogus.

It's just a crapshoot after the top 20 or so. There are just too many people to evaluate and not really any good way to do it. Even then players play different roles on AAU teams.

And you are definitely right about Mullens. Anyone could tell he wasn't the #1 in his class. Not even top 10. They base so much on "potential" and if they are tall.

You'll see it with Adreian Payne this year. He is the #20 rated recruit based on potential. He does have potential but right now he isn't near a top 20 player.

Also, it can depend on when they see a kid play (if they see them at all). If they catch a kid on a bad day or if he is battling an injury, it could affect rankings. It is definitely not an exact science, that's for sure.

Ya i guess im not to really worried about rankings either i thought that he would of moved up to a 4 star ranking but i guess not. i know that rankings dont really mean squat but i kinda of wanted him to be a top 100 talent. I know he will be fine though!!
