Help Support BearcatTalk:

I think right now UC chance at getting Teague is still about 65-70 percent but I see UofL being alot more of a threat to steal him away than UK.

Thanks. That is better than the 60-65% chance that you had in your synopsis! Keep up the great work.

Hey everyone! I just heard about this site (thanks BearcatAlum1!!!) and am already blown away by the info. I always appreciated the info that the_one_32 posted on BCN and am glad there is a new forum to support the Bearcats. Great interview!! Thanks for posting it and keeping it classy.

Glad to see word is getting around. Hope you like it here.

Antsy in the pantsy? God help us if he commits. I DO NOT want to be near you. Ha

Personally I would love Marquis for multiple reasons but mainly to see what him and Cashmere could do in the open court. The speed would be absurd. Add a couple bigs that can run the floor and oh boy.

Hopefully our Pike High pipeline from football will help push Marquis our way. I wonder if the final teams are Louisville, Indiana and Cincinnati if he will take in consideration that Rick Patino is the worst human being of all time? Ha jk, but only half.

I would assume Indiana is a hometown thing because who wants to play in the Big Ten when the Big East is the premier conference. Most exposure, best talent, always on ESPN, Madison Square Garden... the whole 9 yards.

Ideally Marquis would commit and that would get the ball rolling on other commits. If he were to commit early and be a leader about getting others to commit that would be unreal. I think when someone like that commits there is a rippel effect. I think that is what Coyne is doing in football (much much smaller level) but the same idea.

I agree 100%.

If Teague commits, then gets in touch with a few other guys (Chane, Amir, Sampson, etc.), it would go a long way.

I agree that MT's commitment would start a ripple effect.

Teague's committment would be hugh on multiple levels. The talent in Indiana in 2012 is such that these recruits couldn't help but notice that a superstar like Teague picked UC over other top programs. Additionally, he hopefully could do what Daequon Cook did for OSU a couple of years ago, that is, become the magnet that attracts other top players in the 2011 class to UC. Finally, it would quiet the Fire Mick crowd (at least for a day) as this could be the start of a recruiting class hat returns UC to its rightful place, among the elites in college basketball. Having typed all of this, lets hope that Mick can work his recruiting magic.

Pitino just signed a contract extension at Louisville. I wonder if this will affect Teague's decision, as it looks like any uncertainty that he will remain at UL is gone.

Does anyone know if Teague ever talked to Dyjuan Lewis or Anthony McClung who are going to be freshman at UC for football? Both being very good athletes I wouldnt be surprised if they played together at some point...

Teague commitment on horizon?
Posted by Kyle Neddenriep

Marquis Teague's much-anticipated college decision could be coming soon.

Shawn Teague, the father of the standout Pike High School junior, said his son "will make the decision whenever he wants to make it."

"We've talked about it the last couple weeks," Shawn Teague said. "We wanted him to have a chance to see all the teams he was looking at and he's done that. So it's really up to him now to make that decision."

The 6-1 Teague, ranked No. 2 in his class by Rivals.com, is considering offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville and Purdue.

Louisville coach Rick Pitino received a contract extension on Thursday, which will run through the 2013 season.

"It definitely helps that situation," Shawn Teague said when asked Pitino's contract. "It shows that he's going to be there for a while."

ANyone else feeling pretty good about Marquis?

Yes.

Teague's father was quoted as saying, "It helps that situation" regarding Pitino's uncertainty of returning to Louisville.

I took this to mean that there is more than one situation with Pitino. At the least, the talk of Pitino leaving Louisville was considered by Teague.

Of course, it doesn't help that our fans are calling for Mick's head. Then again, out athletic director came out and gave Mick a vote of confidence (which he should because we've improved every year).

I'll be curious when the "pay sites" received Teague's "Final 3."

I'm getting antsy. We're getting close to some very major decisions being made on the recruiting front. Hopefully UC ends up on the positive side of things when the dust settles...
