There's nothing coming soon unless Davis pops. I think Mick would like two bigs, but you have to ask yourself a couple questions. Are there two out there that are worth missing on a solid guard? And if there are, can we land them at the risk of losing a top 125 guy if we don't.

Don't get me wrong they like Davis or he wouldn't have been on campus. I don't think it's a bad thing if they can sign him. My opinion is some people will wish they hadn't cooled on him. Not saying he'll be a first team all conference player, but he will be a smart, solid, stand up player that will not lose games for you. That's not a bad guy to have.

Evan Daniels tweet: Jeremiah Davis May Decide Soon

He also published a story about his visit to Cincinnati and said he has another visit planned.

I think UC is going to push Davis to decide now or lose his scholly. We have to move on soon. We need to start getting ready for 2012.

Yeah... it seems like they've been recruiting him as long if not longer than any other program in the nation. Show us some love Jeremiah!

Man... talk about a drop off... 6 months ago this kid had offers from X, Dayton, Indiana and Michigan St. was rumored to be heating up their recruitment of him... now he's got UC and... Ball St.?

He had offers from UK, Mich St, UC, X at one point. Those schools werent willing to wait for him when they had other good options.

He would be a fine role player at first and maybe turn into something better.

Everyone needs to remember. He was consistently going for 15-18 points in the spring when his stock began to drop. He is a top 125 guy. It's not like he can't play ball. I think it declined due to his seemimg indifference to the recruiting process and what some see as a combo guard not a true point or two guard. He is a very good passer and has good court vision, but can he run a high D1 offense? He can shoot and finish at the rim but can he create shots on the wing and is he fast enough to get to the rim in high D1 ball against top competition. Those are the questions.

He would definitely be a good combo guard off the bench for somebody or a good spot up shooter but he wants to play point. At Cincinnati he has Parker, Wright, and Guyn already here. To me that's the best case scenario for him because he will be able to get some minutes while learning and growing more into the position. His concentration on becoming a straight up point has been sincere, especially in the last year, year and a half.

A team like Ball State may say, "you're coming in and playing point guard from day one". He is a talented young man. In the end it is what is most important to him. Which is why he and his family have taken so much time to make the right decision.

I don't want everyone, regardless of whether he commits or not, to think this kid can't play. He is a very good basketball player. For those that like ratings, he is a top 125 guy. JD is solid in every phase of the game. He isn't flashy and I think that's why some have cooled on him. He doesn't have the "wow" factor. But if you are looking for a kid to play solid D, rebound from the perimeter, have a good basketball iq, be a hard diligent worker, stand up kid, do the right things to win player, that oh by the way can score and pass. He may be your guy. Like I said a few post back. That's not a bad guy to have on your team.

He is also from Muncie, IN I believe. Nothing wrong with checking out your home town school. That's if he even makes it there for a visit.

Okay Jeremiah, you've done your due diligence... now do what everyone knows you're going to do and become a Bearcat! :D

Seems like he is likely going to be a bearcat.

for what its worth, there is a lot of talk on the IU rivals website, Peegs, amongst their insiders that they think Davis is going to UC. They historically have been pretty in tune with the state of Indiana recruiting scene.

He will be a bearcat. I think UC goes JUCO for a big man...

JUCO may be a good route for a big for next year because honestly, I don't see any options out there worthy of a Big East scholarship. 2012 is the year of the Bigs and Mick will look to add a couple in that class. If you can add a player like Davis and load up at the guard position in this class, you do it without hesitation.

Edit: By the way, it is never bad to get a talented kid with a chip on his shoulder. If you don't think Davis knows what happened to his ranking, you would be kidding yourself. The kid will come in with some extra motivation to prove everyone wrong. I hope he comes to UC.

I would be very happy if Davis jumps on board. The kid obviously has loads of talent. The offers that he had throughout his recruitment were very impressive. MSU, Purdue, IU, Miami (FL), Tennessee, XU, and UD. He was a hot commodity but wanted to take his take on his recruitment, and many schools wanted a decision right away, so some certain schools backed off of him. He just knows how to play basketball and I think he has a chance to be a contributor from day one.

I really like the mix of our commits, assuming we get JD. We have guys that are true basketball players that can contribute from day with the basketball skills (Guyn, Sanders, and JD) and guys that can instantly impact a game with their athleticism (Shaq, Ellis). Now I'm not saying Shaq and Ellis aren't good and don't have basketball skills, but I think they will have more of an impact later in their career. The sky is the limit for Shaq.
