ennis would be on scholarship immediately. he would be taking one of our two scholarships available for next year.

on that note, has anyone actually seen him play?

I have not seen him play, but I trust the staff's opinion if they think he's good enough to bring in for a visit. I don't see this as a stunt to try and entice his brother either as we aren't even in the picture for him. His top schools are Arizona, Syracuse, Louisville, and Georgia Tech.

Agreed they wouldn't bring him in just for his brother but I definitely think he is a major bonus. There are a million schools trying to get his brother and since we've already offered, who knows, maybe hell want to play with his older brother in Cincinnati.

There are only 3 schools that offered both him and his brother, I believe it was UC, Villanova and Virginia. Take that for what its worth. UC and Nova are considered the favorites, per that tweet earlier in this thread.

he would be eligable for 2013 since rice is in division 1 C-USA. two scholarships will still be available.

Even though he would be sitting out 2012-13, he still would be on scholarship, meaning UC would have 0 available (Rubles and Ennis). If Obekpa was too commit before Ennis decides, then I guess he isn't coming or there is some sort of back up plan.

This is correct. The only way for this to work out would be to have someone pay their own was as a walk on, assuming Rubles, Obepka, and Ennis all came here.

Why wouldn't they bring him in just for his brother? I think they would, especially if they think his brother is that good. Remember Kristian Smith?

I just can't see us giving up a scholarship for a scrub, to get his brother. I think this kid has legitimate talent and can definitely contribute in the coming years.

He isn't a scrub, so he could still help the team if his brother doesn't come to UC, but its obviously at least an attempt to get both. I have no problem with the strategy, you pull out all the stops to get a guy like Tyler Ennis.

Exactly. Thats my point, the kid has talent so the goal is to get both but they will still be happy to just get Dylan.

This could be a naive question but Does Mick (or even Huggins) have a history of pulling a scholarship from a player? It doesn't seem like he would do that but maybe he just hasn't been in a position to do so.

They wouldn't bring in just some kid that is horrible to get their brother, but if the kids has marginal talent they would. I've never seen this kid play but his numbers don't stand out to me. If he could at least become a backup or a good defensive player I could see UC wanting him for his brother. IMO Dylan doesn't get the looks from Big East teams if it weren't for his brother.

If Dylan's choice of school had any affect on Tyler's recruitment I'm sure Syracuse, Arizona, Louisville, or Georgia Tech would have reached out.

I dont believe the scholarship was pulled. Scholarships are only for one year and renewable at the coaches discretion.

Tim had an understanding with Coach Cronin before he came to UC that there was the possibility that he wouldn't have the scholarship more than one year. Tim still came to UC anyway. By all accounts, coach Cronin is very upfront with the players BEFORE they ever get to UC so they are no blindsided by not getting playing time or anything else. It is why you don't see players transfer out of the program.

Crowell knew the situation. It was a chance for him to display his talents on the biggest stage.
