'14 FL (JUCO) PG Farad Cobb (Commit)

so based on watching youtube videos you have deduced that 1) he has good grades (no idea how or why you can possibly make this assertion or conclusion) and 2) that he will start over not only Caupain, but Guyn who started all 34 games this year? how on earth do you possibly make these conclusions based on a juco highlight video? you have not seen him play one time in person, haven't seen him in practice against the current team, know his only other current suitor is San Francisco in a market where supply is low and teams make reaches for guys based on that said supply....yet he has no other high major suitors that we know of.....and he is already a starter in your book?

everybody different that's what makes this world so special. What you might be great in I might not and what I'm.great in your probably not. I have an eye for talent. Professional coaches and scouts sit around watching hrs of videos and make observations. I be around 100s of kids everyday. You can tell IQ level of people by the way they do simple things. What what its worth most PG are the smartest players on.team. Ever wonder why 85% of ex coaches are guards.

Where are these HOURS of video you are watching? Do you know the competition he is playing against? Are you watching full games that show his faults or are you just watching highlight videos where they piece together all of his good plays. You have no idea how to evaluate talent nor do you have the resources to do so even if you did. We all know how I feel about your opinions and once again you just are wrong. Troy Caupain received high praise from Jay Williams, Doug Gotlieb, and Jay Bilas for how good of a player he was as a freshman and how good he is going to be. I'll take their opinion over yours. Also its not a waste of a scholarship. We need a PG to back up Troy when G leaves and we have a depth issue at the 2. It would allow troy or G to move to the 2 in certain situations next year.

SIZE and the fact that he not probably the most athletic. He looks pretty quick and plays smart so grades shouldn't been issue. Main reason though probably is size. Looking at his videos I have him starting over TC as of right now and I'm a HUGE TC fan. Plays with the swagger and toughness I like. I don't see him being timid around other players on his level.

Just flat-out not going to happen, nor should it. Give me a break.

Watching the same 4 minute video for 2 hours doesn't qualify as watching hours of video. At least for most people it wouldn't. But then again most don't have an eye for talent like you do. If Guyn is #285 best PG, who is #283 and #284?.

I come on here for recruiting updates. I guess I just don't expect to click on the Farad Cobb thread and have to sort through a 10 paragraph post that takes up half the page and doesn't even mention Cobb's name.

LOL! I think it is the stress of all the recruiting news being debated and no one committing. Generally people are civil and respectful on this site. Seems lately things have gotten out of hand.

just because you have basketball instincts and/or display a positive in-game iq in a HIGHLIGHT film does not mean you have good grades. there is no correlation between the two. two entirely different things and an absurd assumption to make.

If we land 2 eligible right away players (including Cobb), we have 13 guys on scholarship. Only 12 can be active. I'd guess he'd be the odd man out if we were to land Stewart or Martin. Otherwise, if we land a traditional transfer, a lower level HS, or no one, I'd bet on him playing right away.

For whatever reason, I have always been under the impression that if you use all 13 scholarships, 1 player must redshirt. I could very well be wrong. I'll try to look it up later to confirm.
