His video reminds me of michael Horton. Too much flashy crap that won't fly in college basketball.

You have got to be kidding. I liked Mike, but his game was nothing like what I see on film of Jenifer. I think Mike might have only scored double figures once or twice in his two years here. Mike probably averaged about 3-4 assists but what I remember most was his horrible free throw shooting, which for a guard was just not acceptable.

That being said, I'll always appreciate the effort Mike gave when he was here. In fact the only two bearcats I will never remember positively are James White and Jihad Muhammed, for obvious reasons.

That Maryland championship he won isn't no joke. Its tons of elite talent in Baltimore area. He's real deal!!!

Justin Jenifer and Caupain have known each other since JJ has been 8 years old. That's crazy, that will lead to some good competition.

13 according to his coach...

Jenifer won Baltimore Co. player of the year as a junior. Averaged 18 points, 13 assists as a junior, according to his coach.

Justin Jenifer's high school coach: "Most coachable kid I've ever had. His basketball IQ is above and beyond. A pitbull on defense."

Strong IQ and a Pitbull on defense...how can you not be excited with this commitment...

Back up point

With Guyn gone after next season, this was a position of glaring need. If Cobb can indeed play a little point, we're solid this next year with him as a 3rd option, but the Cats really needed a 4 year pg recruit to solidify the position for future years - good planning, good get.

I believe Cobb is a lead guard. He averaged over 4ast in juco.

28 games for Cobb:

3.4 apg and 93 total (7 games with 5+ assists)
Also had 12 TO in the 3rd last game vs Pensacola State College.

vs

2.7 3FGM/game and 75 total at 46.3% (9 games with 4+ 3s)

I'd say he's going to be a shooter off the bench. No way he plays back up PG.

I like this signing. This kid has good basketball iq and makes winning plays. He will move up in the rankings before next spring and likely end up in the upper 80's imo.

On the guard situation this season, it will not surprise me if Caupain slides over and plays some two with Cobb at the point. Much will depend on GG's health and if an additional guard is added like Mason. Mormon's development will be big in the absence of a signing and if GG can't play at 100% since he can play the 1-3.

Just verified that. WOW. 12 TOs in one game is pitiful. But at the same time, he only had 47 TOs all season (1.68 per game), so maybe he just had an awful day. I agree though, I've thought all along that Cobb will be a backup shooter that will play around 15 minutes a game. I don't think he ever starts, but we'll see.

Makes me wonder how closely they keep those stats...bc there are games where it says he plays 1 min but takes like 9 shots. And it says he was under 3 TO 25/28 games...but then has a game with 12? Idk.

That is a really weird anomoly - earlier in the year, when they played that same team on two other occasions, he had only 3 & 1 TO - take out that game & he had 35 TO's in 27 games...I'll take that anytime.

As I look over roster we have 0 players returning with over 3ast game. Even he doesn't start its nice having guards that can pass. SK averaged 1ast game last year that's horrible for player who was over 35% of team offense.

I think SK was at 2.5 apg and was team leader.. Plus, if he's already 35% of the offense, that isnt his fault. Guyn is the one who started 34 games and had 33 assists. Much, much worse than SK.
