might be one and done. Wish he was coming this year

Athleticism isn't quite NBA level yet, similar problem SK had until he leaned up before his senior year. At this stage in his career Cumberland is much further along in terms of skill than SK was as a redshirt freshman. I could see Cumberland being a James Harden type player if he can improve his quickness, agility, and vertical over the next couple years.

Lol no disrespect to SK. But he never played on this level in high school. Cumberland wouldn't redshirt right now at ANY school in country. Can't compare everybody to SK. This guy here drops 20 easily on best young players in world.

Sk dropped 20 easily against the best college teams in the country...for shooting guards coming in its very natural to compare them to sk (one of the best players and shooting guards to ever play here)

Sk didn't score 20 against top players his age on world level. Again not taking anything away from sk just this kid is on different level. SK redshirted for team that didn't make tourny. Cumberland can go get minutes on any team in country NOW.

Cumberland is a great player and great pick up for UC, and yes he could have went to a lot of colleges. Im as pumped as you are about him committing (hes going to be a great bearcat). But sk was no scrub in High school, underrated by the rating sites yes, but heres a short bio from his HS days from go bearcats this kid could play:

---Prior to Cincinnati: Averaged 28.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists over four-year prep career at White Plains High School ... finished as the second-leading scorer in White Plains High School history ... a candidate for the McDonald's High School All-American Game ... participated in the Jordan Classic ... a three-time all-state, all-section, all-league, and all-county selection ... helped Notre Dame Prep to a 100-69 win over Apex (N.J.) in the 2009 Big Apple Invitational and was named the game's MVP with 21 points, seven assists, and four steals ... was coached by Ryan Hurd at Notre Dame Prep ... helped ND Prep to Top 10 national ranking.

The only reason he redshirted was because we picked up the highest cronin recruit ever in lance stevenson who played the same position

Would u take Cumberland or sk coming out of high school?

Knowing what i know now i would take sk over Harry Giles(#1 player in 2016) coming out of High school. Sk averaged about 10 pts as a frosh, 14pts as a soph, 17 as a junior, and 21 (over 24 in conference play) as a senior and was one of if not the best player in college basketball. He was one of the best players to wear a bearcat jersey. But if you arguing who has more hype or rating coming in then yes that would be cumberland

Dain Ervin @BIReports: Someone on the West Team needs to read the scouting report on Jarron Cumberland, He can shoot..6 3's in the first half!! #GlobalChallenge

Cumberland had another 25 points on 9-17 from the field overall and 7-12 from 3 point range!!!!

This kid can definitely get buckets.

I wonder does Cumberland have any other buddies other than PG that a come here. An 6'5-6'7 3 and d guy on wing is needed

Comparing SK and Jarron now is like apples and oranges totally different stages to compare, let's compare them after his career. But let's all just be thrilled now that Cumberland is committed to UC, he is going to be special, and help this team for however long he is here. I'm excited to see how good he can be. A great get for the program.
