Thought there was a good chance he would be Pitt bound after his visit, but with that not happening things change quite a bit...
I'd imagine the answer is yes but hearing it doesn't hurt, would this be a good get even with our gaurd situation for the next few years?

If we do get him, i would want him to redshirt, and i imagine Cronin would also. Dont know how he would feel about that.

Not sure we know enough at this point to talk about a redshirt. With Johnson leaving, and Broome and Jenifer not earning anything at this point, who's to say he couldn't get minutes off the bench at the 1 and/or 2? We've gone after a few guys like this in this class. Seems like Cronin sees a need.

Very surprised by this development. With Clark and Washington headed out the door after next year I thought they would hold a scholarship back and go really hard after the best big man transfer that hits the market. They would have a hell of sales pitch. There are 30-35 minutes of playing time available and you get to spend a year training with two really polished and accomplished guys in practice every day while you sit out. Cronin changed his recruiting philosophy towards a more offensive concentrated approach and it's finally coming together. You can't win in March without scoring guards so this pick up would be more than fine with me. Go get em.

Possible we get a good PF in 2018 (we have lots of time to look). Possible (although I hope not) that someone transfers out and we have an opening this spring. Possible that we think Brooks will be ready as a JR to be the only needed big man on the floor at times and we feel comfortable going small with Evans at the "4". Possible that Tre Scott is a good enough player to hold his own by the time he's a 4th year JR. We have lots of time to get that all sorted out, so for now I completely agree with you...go get Carr.

Jake you say this Everytime. I don't think you understand how good Broome is. There a no playing time at point once he starts. Trust me the kid can ball

I'll take your word for it. Only seeing highlights, one game on YouTube, and stats, my thought on Broome was Trevor Releford. I don't like to assume so far in advance, but let's say Broome and Cumberland are the 1 and 2. Why couldn't Carr compete for minutes off the bench? Not a ton. But he could get in the mix early if he's good enough. And the path is clear as of now for him as an upperclassman since Broome and Jenifer are the same class.

Right I completely agree and all for it, just hope the player will buy into that.

I think if he does commit I wouldn't be surprised to see T. Moore redshirt and work on being less one dimensional or maybe they expect Evans to test the waters with the draft after the season and are preparing for that. I don't know, I don't want to over think it, but I'd love to have Carr commit.

Don't forget about small ball guys, everyone is constantly worried about time talking about only two guards playing. Putting 3 guards on the floor at the same time isn't crazy these days.

You can never have enough good guards. Lock him up, redshirt 1 of the 3 guards signed. Point to SK as a great reason to redshirt, would balance the class a bit.

I think you're over-thinking it, especially the part about Evans testing the NBA after this season (you never know -- but I don't think the coaching staff is expecting that).

I believe it's as simple as they're going after Carr because he's talented. They think he's going to be very good, and since Carr is showing interest in UC, they'd love to have him here; depth and position aside.

If you watch a kid and really like his game, you will make room for him.

Man, I hope we could get Carr to commit while he is here. He looks like a really solid scoring guard who comes from a high level school. Lock him up coach!
