Thanks Chad. I'm not a BCJ subscriber yet, but I'm starting to lean that way.For those that are BCJ members, you know I am a rough critic when I am out scouting. Potential is nice, but if production doesn't follow there is little for me to get behind. I liked Anthony Gaines quite a bit, but he's a kid that will struggle to score at the highest level. I'm a huge fan of dirty work guys, but it can't be a one dimensional thing if you are going to play on the wing and be needed to score.
Williams checks off almost every box in what I look for. He wants to guard the opponents main perimeter threat, and can do it well across several positions. He can score at all three levels. He has a handle that can create problems in the middle of a defense. Plus he has that toughness that NYC guards are known for. He has all the makings of an early program guy that can become a star as he puts in the work necessary.
I haven't pushed a kid this hard since Gary Clark. Hopefully they get him in the fold and see similar results...
