I have also been guilty of it as well, especially with KJ, and sometimes their play has warranted criticism. I try not to be too critical of our players though because at the end of the day they're just kids playing basketball and they all want to win just as much as we want them to.

I was talking to my buddies at the game last night about Troy. I think he's so underappreciated by this fan base. He might not be the player we need him to be right now because for whatever reason his scoring has disappeared but he is one heck of a point guard. He's a throwback at his position and plays the point the way it used to be played. He is team first and there's no question he's our leader out on the floor.

I think if Troy played at Duke or North Carolina on a loaded team with lots of other guys around him who can score he'd be one of the most respected players in the country. Unfortunately for him we kind of need him to be a scorer at times and for whatever reason that area of his game has struggled this season. Troy is a true point guard in every sense of the position and I think fans are really going to miss him when he's gone. His contributions to this team have been immeasurable.

Agreed.. Well said. I also liked to hear about what Cronin said on KJ..Stuff that we don't know that goes on how he comes through with hustle plays.

Agreed that there's a lot of intangibles with Kevin (and Troy). Love those intangibles, but numbers, at least in my eyes, are even bigger. And Kevin is finally showing numbers that I can get behind. Take out his first 10 games this season, and he's averaging 9.8 PPG while shooting 39.6% from three and 85% from the FT line. For a guy that's known for his defense and toughness, you really can't ask for much more from him at this point. A little unfortunate he didn't figure out his offense earlier in his career, but it's so nice to see him turn the corner (at least to an extent).

If you told me before the year 10 ppg, 40 percent from 3, and 85 percent from the line... I would say where do I sign?

That will work with his D.

Yup. I have been tracking his stats since the FDU game. For the one that we can all agree, offensively weakest starter but to be averaging those kind of numbers is beyond our expectations.

This has been a great year to be a Bearcats Bball fan. 18-0 at home is great for our seniors. The best part of the success this year is how miserable it makes the Cronin haters.

Couldn't disagree more. Screw that. The best part imo is that our players are leaving us with a team that will be remembered forever. I'd rather be happy for them and focus on their achievements than worry about anyone else.

Well said Jake. This is a GREAT group of guys that deserve every word of praise thrown their way. Troy, kev and Tobes are exactly what you want the program you root for to be all about. They come from first class families and are guys that will carry the UC flag long after they take off their uni for the last time. I am going to miss all 3 a great deal when this season is over...

100%

These guys are easy to root for. Really proud of this team.

Go Cats!

Leaned over to my Dad near the end of the game and lamented that another year was in the books, really sad to see the home slate over, but excited for the tourney and a new 5/3 arena.
