@Antoine_Mason
Good Visit at Providence a couple of more schools to think about possibly visiting but this was a good visit #friars

I'm going to throw out a ton of maybes here...

Maybe Mason is reluctant to visit UC bc we wont give him the more minutes, points, etc...Maybe he only made those comments about Seton Hall bc they arent as good of a program. Maybe Anthony Mason sees us as the best place for his son to get exposure. He is already known in the northeast, but us, Memphis, or Auburn would open up a new region and confeence for him. And Memphis and UC give him the best chance for the tournament. If we got him he would start at SG. I just hope his shots would be under 15 and minutes under 30. All of the sudden, it seems like we're waiting to see if he'll decide to visit...

I'm back and forth on if I want him here or not. I already believe one person will redshirt with the 7 new guys we have coming in (2 freshmen, 2 redshirted freshmen, 3 jucos), so if he comes here, I wouldn't be shocked if two redshirted. This just seems like a lot for one year. I'd be okay with pocketing it, but I also don't want to miss out on great talent. Just another one where I trust the staff knows what it's doing.

2 redshirts wouldnt be crazy. We're worried about Mason stunting people's growth but if we hold out the 2 people most affected, I wouldnt be as upset. I'm with you though, back and forth and trying to talk myself into it. Our guys might really need to lean on a guy like Mason in some games. Maybe our guys aren't all as ready as we want to think and a tough veteran scorer is just what we need again. But it has to be efficient.

The staff is very high on both Caupain and Johnson, Morman has already redshirted, Guyn is a senior and Cobb fills an immediate need as a shooter. That tells me it is VERY unlikely that one of the guards will be redshirted.

That leaves the front court players as potential redshirts. Ellis, DeBerry and Strickland will not redshirt. The only two options are Clark and Moore. Between the two I'd say Quadri Moore is the most likely redshirt candidate. He probably won't see significant minutes for the next two years (every front court player will return next year too).

Even if Mason were to somehow land here (haven't heard anything significant there) it is likely that you'll just see a lot of 3 guard line-ups with both Mason and Morman manning the "three" position defensively. It will give Morman the chance to be very, very aggressive defensively in his minutes as he will be more of a luxury then necessary piece next year.

Considering how much first-year JUCO's usually struggle I hope no one in the front court redshirts. With no big man to count on for consistent play it'll be nice to have multiple options. I fear what Rothstein reported is true and that we are going to see Sanders at the 4 and scoring in the paint could actually be worse next year.

hmmm. Thats weird. The other link is a day newer and it says UCLA is out, but lists us with 5 other schools

I just saw this article today, didn't realize it was June 8. Seems like CBT was going more off his original list right when he decided to transfer...maybe Zags got more updated info.

What does that mean? He has had 1 visit and is scheduled for 2 more, but we aren't one of them...

There are 5 teams involved we are on of them but we are not set up for a visit yet, he may visit first 3 and decide from them or decide to visit all 5 which would make us a back up plan!

Ok thanks. So he visited Maryland this past weekend, he visits Richmond tomorrow, then NC State the 20th? So we wouldn't hear more until then at best? The article mentions us, Rutgers, and Wake though...so that is 6? I'm confused...he cuts his list from 7 to 4, then schedules 3 visits, then adds us and Rutgers back to the list but as of now isnt going to visit?

@AdamZagoria
Anthony Mason tells @SNYtv his son Antoine likes the situations at Auburn & Providence but will 'probably take a couple more visits.'

It doesn't mean anything. He's making it up.

I have no idea where Henderson will end up and where his interest level is regarding UC but I do know that ever since he showed up here Bearcatboy has consistently flung sh*t at the wall in the hopes it would stick.

How this guy gained back any credibility after he admittedly made up trade rumors about the Reds is completely beyond me.
