Jake I mentioned this earlier if as a coach or parent you want more for your kid or kids then they want for themselves it will be a problem. My kids are having Kids now. First Grandson is a month old. My son was a very good athlete but he never had the success of my younger son. This got me thinking. Why??? What I came up with was the Daddy throw it higher strategy. I would see parents taking their kids out to the ball field and hitting these shots to their children thinking teaching him how to get tough and stand in the way of these bullets would make him a better player. What it did was make him not want to be out their with them. What I realized from experience with my youngest was I used to roll it to him softly at first until he would say hit it harder daddy. I got much better results with him they the older. The players on team need to take ownership of there performance. It was almost as if they were happy to be close to ISU.I'm here if you need to know anything else about a player years in advance......
The loss didn't bother them. well they have been embarrassed. Lets see what kind of grit they have now.
