I don't follow trends I set them. We play my way NOBODY can beat us. That's motto I follow in life. Only a handful of teams didn't have a single player avg 10 last year. Which hand would you rather be dealt

You should sign up for coaching. There are a lot of teams (at every level in every sport) that would like to never lose. Haha...jk

Out: Farad Cobb, Coreontae DeBerry, Octavius Ellis, Shaq Thomas

In: Nysier Brooks, Jarron Cumberland, Tre Scott, Kyle Washington

What will be different? We won't have much depth. 4 new players. 6 returning players (3 of which can't be counted on to make a difference). We won't be ranked preseason. Are we going to do the whole "we actually like being unranked" bit again? Gets old. Year after year. Someone tell me why I should be optimistic!

I think we should be looking pretty good or better at 4 starting positions next year. I think Clark, Evans, Caupain will all improve a little and I believe Washington will be a better offensive weapon than Ellis although not quite as good on defense.

Depth could be an issue depending on how ready the young bigs are and how hard Quadri works. Will JJ be ready to give us more minutes? We will need a wing to step up in KJ, Cumberland, yet to be named player or potentially playing JJ and TC at times.

I hope Cumberland is as ready to play as Evans was this year. If so, we should be looking pretty good at all 5 positions (although a little thin)

You left out Tre Scott. He will add depth at the 4. I also have high hopes that Mick will add a grad transfer wing player that can shoot.

We all keep talking about a grad transfer who could play the 2 or 3 which is, ideally, the most important thing we need to address this offseason.

Anyone have any names that might fit that mold? Is there somewhere I could look to see some mid-major guys who can score and have a year of eligibility left?

This is tough to predict because you don't know each students situation and I have no inside knowledge here but just a few names that are floating around as possible graduate transfers:

Jack Gibbs - Davidson - 6'0 G 25.3 PPG/ 37%3PT
Brian Bernardi - Hofstra - 6'2 SG 87% FT/ 39% 3PT
Jeremy Senglin - Weber St - 6'2 SG 18.4 PPG / 47%3PT
Canyon Barry - College of Charleston - 6'6 SG/SF 19.7 PPG/ 85%FT (Son of Rick Barry)
Jordan Price - LaSalle - 6'5 SG 18.9 PPG/ 38%3PT
Ryan Taylor - Marshall - 6'5 SF 14.3 PPG/ 36%3PT
Aaron Valdes - Hawaii - 6'5 SG 14.3 PPG
Jaron Blossomgame - Clemson - 6'7 SF 18.1 PPG/ 41% 3PT

I'll rather have a 3 that can bring ball up court over shooting 2/3. No game this year we have lost because of missed shots. plenty times we've watched kj and shaq try to bring ball up court or just dribble and end up in HORRIBLE turnover. Get me somebody 6'7-6'8 225 that can get the rebound and GO!!!

troy/jj/kj
evans/cumberland/kj
new guy/evans/scott
clark/new guy/scott/brooks
washington/new guy/brooks

sorry moore but unless you get your head on straight down this stretch run bye bye my friend.

I cant ever get behind KJ running the point. even if its for 5 seconds. He is extremely TO prone. I also dont think we should just throw a new guy into the starting lineup when we havent even heard of any names. We have no idea if we will get a 5th year transfer, and I dont see any late freshmen signings jumping directly into the starting lineup(especially if Cumberland doesnt, considering a late signing isnt going to be better than him or evans). I also dont see Evans moving to the 2 when there is a spot open at the 3

Didnt even think of a Juco tho. But still havent heard any names

Yeah I think Evans will stay as a "3" for defensive purposes.

Unless Brooks and Scott give more than I think they can at backup 4/5, I'm concerned with our frontcourt depth. I'd love to have a guy who can play 15 minutes alongside Clark or Washington so we could mainly have a 3 man rotation.

2/3 doesnt matter on level of teams we play. now when its comes deep march your not winning without a 6'7-6'8 guy that can go on wing. IF we trying win evans and cumberland need see all minutes at the 2.

KJ too small for me at the 2. thats why he struggles and turns ball over so much hard time beating bigger guy on wing. He needs work on his handle all summer and start operating more in space. YOu cant win with cobb and kj standing in corners. need be 6'5 or better on wings

KJ's handles have never been his strong suit. I get a bit nervous when he dribbles too long, bound to turn it over.

Tonka thanks for that list. Exactly what I was looking for. Agreed, hard to say now what exactly would happen but I would love for us to snag a grad transfer and have him be a big opponent of our offense ( like Lee at Louisville).

Wasn't Mick recruiting Ryan Taylor at one time?

depending on how tall you say clark is, evans is just as tall if not less than an inch shorter. Evans will be on the wing, but that doesnt mean he is limited to only playing the 3 he could still get spot minutes at 2. He has the skill set to bring the ball up the court, and be a shooter or slasher.

1)troy
2)Cumberland would be ideal based on skillset and size, but gary was the first exception to the rule that older players will start
3)evans
4)clark
5)washington

That in my opinion is the best lineup we will run out next year. That is all depending on how everyone improves including KJ,JJ,Scott,Moore

Right now that is how I see it. If thee is a change it will be because we brought in a grad transfer that can play the wing better then KJ or Cumberland. Freshman don't usually start because they have a hard time adjusting to playing defense.
