"Cincinnati always seems to be one of those teams that’s in the national conversation, then is quickly forgotten in March. The Bearcats have won at least 22 games each of the last six years and have been to the NCAA Tournament each season in that span, but have reached the second weekend just once. This year, Cronin has the team to go further."

Pretty good summary of UC Basketball.

Not to spam, but I contribute to my buddy's blog, and wrote an enormously in-depth piece regarding my overall prediction to the 2016-17 season. Would appreciate you all giving it a read if you have a little time to kill. I think it's very fair.

I have UC going 24-7, then 1-1 in the AAC tourney (so 25-8 overall), getting a 7-seed in the NCAA Tourney, and losing in the 2nd round to a 2-seed. Fair? Unfair? I'll take any feedback. Thanks!

predicting tournament results, which are largely dependent upon match-up specifics, is a largely ridiculous concept outside of looking at powerhouse teams that are to be expected to beat just about anyone.

Even though I can partially agree with that, why would I predict the entire regular season, then stop there...? That's no fun.

True True.

I was with the team last night at the Santo Gral before the Bengals game. It's good to see them all so close and go out a little before practice starts next week.

It's still crazy to me how tall of a point guard we have, Troy is big dude. AJ Green seems so tall compared to everyone in the NFL. That's basically Troy's size.

Cane was with them too and there's quite the size difference. Cane will be fun to watch. I can tell he's really glad he chose UC, and is really close already with the team.

Because at that point your speculating entire opponents not just results? And I'm sorry you are giving us terrible chances this year... 1-1 in AAC tourney? We should be the favorite this year behind Uconn I suppose, I don't see anything less than a conference championship game. And I think 7 see is gonna be low for us, I think 4-5 this year. We have a really good team.

And you have us literally losing every true road game against a tough opponent. You're crazy if you don't think we will be one of those teams on the road. 7 losses is a lot, we win the close ones this year, I'll give us 5.

Out: Farad Cobb, Coreontae DeBerry, Octavius Ellis, Shaq Thomas

In: Nysier Brooks, Jarron Cumberland, Tre Scott, Kyle Washington

What will be different? We won't have much depth. 4 new players. 6 returning players (3 of which can't be counted on to make a difference). We won't be ranked preseason. Are we going to do the whole "we actually like being unranked" bit again? Gets old. Year after year. Someone tell me why I should be optimistic!

Guess you were wrong about being ranked, every poll has us in the top 25. Maybe it's time for a little optimism

Are the polls out?

AP poll or not out but sports publications have released top 25's

ESPN has ranked 22
SB nation has us at 17
NBC sports has us at 21
Sports illustrated has us at 19

We are not ranked at cbs sports 25 and 1 but I also don't think some of the teams ranked above us don't deserve it

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing. I think it's fair. I think if we want to be a successful slower-paced team like the schools you mentioned, we're going to have to shoot 3s like they're going out of style. I dont know the numbers for the other schools, but I'd like for us to be at about 25 per game honestly, if our tempo is in the 300s.

I follow Evans on instagram and his live update (I dunno what it's called but the feature they copied from facebook) and he showed a video of him getting his knee wrapped in ice.

Hopefully just part of the routine and not an injury.

Just judging by his vertical jump video, his knees are judt fine. Like you ended saying, I'm sure it's just part of the post workout recovery.
