We will get to watch ugly UC basketball all non conference next year, win a few against the bottom of the league and then ultimately get smashed by Houston in the conference tourney. Then JD likely thinks he’s a pro and leaves, the ones we hardly had time to evaluate transfer and then bam, back in to the same mess in year 4 of a rebuild,

But they can be actively making up their list of coaching candidates right now. If Brannen is fired I imagine the coaching search won't take long.
Also, we are pretty much in rebuild mode right now anyway. Firing Brannen would be about improving us 2/3 years down the line. Next year is looking like a wash no matter what.

John coaches hard. Is tough and demanding. These kids are entitled and soft. That's make take.

1.) Zach doesn't hear about it and doesn't transfer, he lied to Mason to keep him happy. Mason now doesn't trust him.
2.) Zach doesn't hear about it and transfers. This is the only possible good results.
3.) Zach hears about it, gets pissed and transfers. Now he essentially forced Harvey out and Mason doesn't trust you.

The only reason something you say this is if you are 100% sure Harvey is going to transfer. If he has already told the staff and even the other players that is his plan.

I was pleasantly surprised after watching Bryson Spell's highlights. He's not some unathletic stiff like Rap. He has a good looking stroke and seems adept at making plays off the dribble from anywhere on the court. Obviously doesn't have Tari's bounce but seems to have an edge over him with other attributes.

Seems a bit like a culture war right now. But I doubt former players know too much more than we do because we are all getting the best info available including here and J Williams and Chad etc etc etc
What they do know is how they felt about their coaches while in college, and I'm guessing the reason they're calling the kids soft is they probably all hated their coaches when they were freshman.

I think everything was amplified in a covid year and that caused the blow up. The fox 19 article sounds a lot like what you'd hear from a huggs or cronin player. Very tough on you, pushes you non stop, but also takes you to places you didn't believe you could ever go.
We know the way he coaches makes players better. The giant leaps Scott and Williams took late in their SR years, the jumps Davenport has made. If you stick with Brannen he's absolutely going to make you a much better player. Isn't that the goal?
Agree. If nothing else he’s a big body. As we’ve seen you can’t have enough big bodies. Even if you have to sit them on the bench for a year. Obviously we need more but it’s a start
A stretch 4 that can shoot it and also handle the ball a bit is a very tough matchup. Hopefully he can bulk up some too so he can hold his own on the boards.
No one here is against tough coaching. I’m all for it.
But I think John struggles with empathy, connecting with players, and then the more worrisome; dividing a locker room against itself. You don’t build teams like that.
He needs to read those leadership books he passed out to the team.
All in all it doesn’t even matter. Just win. Just recruit good players and actually ******* keep them.
