College basketball cannot keep this transfer rule... It will destroy the sport. Uc looking like turning over a complete roster.... But many many many other schools doing the same. It's a problem.

I just don't see what we do as a program if all of his own recruits leave. You have to get rid of him. We can't bring in 8+ guys every year.

Like I said over a month ago, if you're getting rid of him, you have to do it now. Bring somebody in that can grab some transfers and go all out on the local guys.

It is absolutely insane, I understand making a one time rule for this season because of covid, but this is ridiculous. I remember just a few years ago it was expected you might lose one guy to transfer, if you lost 2 guys that was a lot. Now some teams are losing 5,6,7 guys.

If we whiff on Paul McMillan, the guy goes to school literally right across the street from UC, that should be a homerun get.

I honestly can’t find a single reason for any player to stick around.

I think DeJulius stays, he already transferred once, so he won't get a free transfer.

Other than that. Maybe Diarra because he has a baby and will get playing time after everyone else leaves and Brannen brings in JuCo's and low-major transfers.

Maybe MAW because he probably would be going to a low major if he transfers.

Lakhin because he is such an unknown that he would have trouble transferring to another D1 school.

I think Eason is gone. I also think Davenport is probably gone. Mason will probably let Gabe look around for him and enter his name if/when Gabe finds a good landing spot for them both.

Saw an average of 4 players per team across 350 teams.... That's wild.

I think anyone can transfer for free this year. Going forward players only get one free transfer, but that requirement is waived in 2021 due to Covid I believe.

You do have to wonder that if we would have beaten Houston, would this still be a thing?

A 40 point loss to end the year is bad news.

Reality is... John isn’t getting fired because we don’t have 4.5 million for his buy out plus his replacements cost.

So we are stuck with CJB for at least two more years. As even after next year it only drops down to 3.8 million and he gets a 1 million retention bonus.

We stuck with his Ash from Evil Dead looking ass.

It is what it is.

Find a way to patch the hole in the ship and hope we make it to shore

I do wonder if it would have been different if Gilbert just hit that shot. Would have been less of a bad taste and would have looked a little better. But whatever, getter to where I’m just out on sports. Find something else to do

I don’t know. I would say all these young guys who were stars on their hs/aau find themselves sitting behind other guys on a losing team (or barely 500) probably think they should get more minutes. I bet if you asked Mikey what his goal is he would straight faced say to play in the nba, as remote as that chance is he probably believes he can do it. So he is looking for the opportunity to get him there, even know that opportunity probably doesn’t exist. Not many guys will be willing to sit behind other guys on a sub par team.

Definitely seems we are stuck with Brannen for a while, unless we can negotiate a lower buy out with him or fire him with cause (if there are really major locker room issues maybe it could happen).

Be curious what comes out of all these opt outs... No chance everyone stays quiet. If tari leaves.. absolutely zero chance his mom does.

Who is sitting behind guys? Everyone left was playing? Playing time isn’t the issue

Yeah, I'll be curious to hear what is said when everything comes out. I've been trying to find it, but I can't now. A while back someone on the 247 forum posted about a tweet (I believe from Saunders) that was quickly delete. The deleted tweet said something like: when the smoke rises, all becomes clear.

Maybe someone else remembers the tweet and can find it. Maybe it wasn't from Saunders and I'm misremembering? It was taken as a sign of support for Brannen, because people thought Saunders was firmly in the Brannen camp. But now I wonder if it actually had the opposite meaning.

Also, Lobot, the admin on Bearcat News, who is pretty well connected just posted this over on his forum.

Lobot said:
I wish I had deeper connections frankly but when I was at the game on Saturday I heard some interesting things. Unfortunately I can't go into detail on who said what without making important people mad at me. It had been awhile since I'd been in a room with some of them. Some of the folks I was meeting for the first time so it was hard to read some of it but now that I look back at it, I can say that everything was not wine and roses and it's just now making sense to me as to why.

I think you're looking at a full out player revolt like Gregg Marshall had at WSU after last year.
