At this point it is a 6 team race to win the conference regular season title. Here are the current standings.

1. Temple 10-3 (@Houston, @Tulsa, UCF, Memphis, @Tulane)
2. SMU 9-3 (@UConn, ECU, @Memphis, Tulane, UConn, @Cincinnati)
3. Cincinnati 8-4 (@Tulsa, UConn, @ECU, @Houston, SMU)
4. UConn 8-4 (SMU, @Cincinnati, @USF, Houston, @SMU, UCF)
5. Tulsa 8-5 (Cincinnati, @UCF, Temple, @Memphis, USF)
6. Houston 8-5 (@Tulane, Temple, @UCF, @UConn, Cincinnati)

Looks like Tulsa and Temple have the most favorable schedules. Cincinnati and UConn have the most difficult, with 4 games left with the top 6. For us to win the league (and the #1 seed), we need to root for Temple to get knocked off twice. I really would rather not be in the 2/3 matchup in the semifinal with UConn. I would prefer holding off on playing them a third time for the final.

At least the conference tournament not in the xl center this year

Temple hosts #1 Villanova tonight on ESPN2. A Temple win would be huge for them and help the perception of the AAC, but I got to think that we're rooting against them tonight (and of course the rest of the season).

Come Selection Sunday it might be between us and them getting in... and a win over a #1 team is wayyyyy better than anything on our resume. That plus their two wins over us, I can't see us getting in over them.

I was thinking the same thing...

how about we let them win tonight and then just teabag them in the tournament? nothing to worry about once we win that auto bid.

UCONN vs SMU who wins and who should we be rooting for?

I say SMU wins

Because SMU is ahead of us I'm rooting for UCONN
