not happening and im pretty sure they have tiebreaker. im going for temple need that record to continue looking good once we pop them in tourny

I think it is possible for us, Temple, Tulsa, and SMU or UConn could all finish 13-5. I don't think Temple's tiebreaker over us would apply then, would it?

Temple holds the invidiual tie-breakers over SMU, Cincinnati and UConn. Even if they split with Tulsa, they will likely hold the tiebreaker over them as well.

So basically Temple has won the league lol... They might as well win out so we can play them in the tourney and they will have their best number's.

Temple at Tulsa tonight at 7:00 on ESPNnews. Current line has Tulsa at -6.5

Who is everybody rooting for? The Bearcats are chasing Temple to be named the AAC regular season conference champs and #1 seed in the conference tournament.

Tulsa on the other hand is a bubble team who if things play out a certain way could potentially take a tourney spot away from UC.

Personally I'm rooting for Tulsa in hopes that Cincy takes care of their own business.

Current AAC Standings

TEAM CONF
Temple 11-3
SMU 10-4
Cincinnati 10-5
Tulsa 10-5
Connecticut 9-5
Houston 9-6
Memphis 6-8
UCF 5-9
South Florida 4-11
Tulane 3-11
East Carolina 2-12

I am torn. Tulsa is one of our Top 50 RPI wins so it probably benefits us to have them win but they also appear to be closer to the bubble than Temple. So in that case, I think I am pulling for Temple. Throw in Temple leading the conference and now I am back to rooting for Tulsa. However, Temple has a pretty easy last 4 games so it is unlikely that UC can catch them in the standings. So I will root for Temple tonight.

I think at the end of the day if the Bearcats take care of business then it shouldn't matter.

considering tulsa a top 50 rpi win for us and temple basically has title either way im rooting for tulsa

I'm rooting for Temple they are going to make the tourney, so are were. I think UConn might not. Let's beat them in the AAC tourney!

Realistically I think we should be rooting for someone to overtake UCONN for 3rd in league. That would mean as a 4 seed they would be in line to face Temple in semi while we as the 2 seed would get the 3 seed. Am I thinking correctly???

As of right now I believe Tulsa is the 3 seed.

I'm for anything that keeps us off the same side of the bracket as UCONN and Temple. I think it would be to our advantage to only have to play one of them to win the conference tourney. If we stay at 2 with Tulsa at 3 and UCONN 4 that accomplishes that. Based on schedule and tie breaker I can't see us catching Temple.

My thoughts were initially that I wanted temple to win bc it would push there rpi into top 50.. And Tulsa wouldn't fall out. It would give us 6 top 50 wins which would be huge.

But at the same time, if temple loses, we still have a remote chance at regular season championship

so only justinhub allowed to have initial thoughts?

I'm torn because, I am assuming Tulsa will win tonight it just muddies up the American as a whole.

There are four teams, Temple, UConn, UC, Tulsa fighting for the tourney spots. I know there is a lot of games left to determine things and winning will solve UC's problems but....let's face it. There won't be 4 AAC teams getting a bid. It's just not going to happen. One team will def have their bubble burst, maybe 2.

I won't feel confident for UC's tourney big unless we win these next 3. At Houston is my concern. It's def 3 games we should win.

Still don't think anyone can catch Temple for no.1 seed in ACC tourney. So keeping them at 1 and UCONN at 4 is in our best interest as far as winning the conference title.

I don't care who we play in the conference tournament. If we play well, we will beat any of these teams. I would like for us to have the best record in the conference, even if we don't have the tiebreaker.

I'm with you but looking at the schedule it doesn't seem like we can catch Temple with them beating us twice. The best path for us assuming we don't catch them is to be the 2 seed and Tulsa be the 3. I feel that would give us the easier path to the finals.

We can have the same record as Temple if they lose 1 more time and we win out. I know they have the tiebreaker, I just don't want a team going better than 13-5 if we can't. Temple hasn't played as well as their record says, I bet they'll lose again.
