Another step in the rebuilding of a program. We have a chance to win some more games this year. You need to play well in the NIT.

Take the frustration of losing this way into the next tournament. Yeah some people will make fun but this is so valuable.

We didn't give up on the year we played harder and better in March. Georgetown was bad but they are on a great roll.

I honestly don't care at all about the NCAA tournament. I will watch. I will want to see Big East teams do well but I don't care at all. Sunday I will be waay more interested in seeing the NIT brackets.

The NIT is an huge baby step for the program. Playing like they did in the BE tournament , in front of the entire country on prime time television is huge. It might not have been the prettiest basketball team but neither where any of our huggins teams. Go Cats

I have to agree. Cincinnati's performance this week was great on a national basis. It was even discussed in our little local "dirty south" newspaper in Alabama. My Clients who do not normally watch basketball saw the WV v. Cinti game. If the Cats do well in the NIT, next year should be really something! I would be interested how it (BET and NIT apprearnce) affects recruiting.

Agreed!

Yeam we have 2 high motor guys coming in but is that going to help our offense?

You guys act like we have been a program with dynamic offenses. Our offenses struggled tremendously under Huggybear as well. Look at WVU, they have plenty of guys who can score yet their offense was just as awful as ours.

Our offense will be better next year with Lance as the main feature. DV was a black hole out there in terms of team basketball. Addition by subtraction.

I like your signature.

Also expect the offense to be better next year.

Can't bear to watch that lack of offense next year.

Wouldnt you expect Lance to be even more productive. Same with most other people.

Justin Jackson is going to be good. Not just a high motor guy. Plus both of you guys are ignoring the fact that Kilpatrick will be joining the team this year too.

The offense will be better, with Toyloy and DV gone, but more than one guy must get the shots and FT's to fall with regularity.

Seems like when Toyloy and Vaughn were out we got more open looks. Not saying the shots were falling, but they were better shots. Hopefully with some seasoning and improvement in our young players, those shots will fall.

I also want to remind you Bishop was absent from this run in the BE tournament. I'm beginning to wonder how that affected the team.....positively or could we have used him???

Remember the whole stats argument. From last season to this season most guys points are the same if not worse. You can't just say most others will increase production.

Yes, Lance will be the man. We have been there before though with one offensive threat; DV his sophomore year. From what I have read about Kilpatrick is that he is more of a slasher and not a shooter. A Sam Young type without the developed jumper yet. Which is ok, but we have seen Ibrahima, Cash, and Mike Williams struggle after sitting out a year or two.

Nothing compares to the offense this team runs. Poor sets and wild shots and guards who can't take care of the basketball. We have a chance to win as long as the other team does'nt score in the 70's. It will get you results of a NIT bid.

It's ok to be positive once a day. :D

I hope Mick realizes this and does something about it. The ball is in his court, and people are running out of patience. Shooting 33 percent from the field is a recipe for losing, no matter how good your team is, and frankly, UC doesn't have the margin for error that the top tier enjoy.

Exactly. This offense especially, needs a 3 point shooter. It is easy to pack 5 guys inside the three point line and say now try to score on us. If we can extend offenses it will open things up.

I think our sets and offense was a lot better in the BE. Just bc the shots dont fall, doesn't mean it wasn't a good offensive sets. We had a lot of open looks we just didn't convert.
