Im referring to the style of basketball where your defense makes bad offenses look like the 96 bulls.

Thats the style that concerns me.

Doesn’t have the players yet. You see him trying different combinations but really doesn’t have many options. Now he does need to get players. That’s his job but it takes time. Time will tell if he can. So far I think he’s done very well bringing guys in

The guy he tried to recruit over the summer was an athletic big. Chose Florida state. It’s not like he has no idea he needs guy that can move a little bit.

Which makes me wonder how Elie and the other guy did not fit, at least Elie would rebound.

And now Diarra, if his senses kicked in, probably began to wonder how he was valued less than Rap and Vogt. He may look lost, but he would attack the glass on both ends. How do you not value that as a coach, when you've already benched Vogt last year, and are on the verge of doing it again. If I'm a player like Diarra, and that's going on, I would have opted out too.

Seems like Chris Vogt did not have a productive offseason. He was brought here as a Band Aid, and will always be a Band Aid.

Things that concern me:

Recruiting class for 21. We need guys.

Willingness to just sit Vogt and rap at the same time. I get they have good bigs but just try it.

Seeing the team constantly fall behind before starting to play well.

The problem is that we have no idea. Diarra had chances. He had plenty. We don’t know if it’s a COVID worry or he wasn’t happy. I would guess playing time but I don’t know. Ellie might have wanted to leave. We don’t know that either. That’s why he needs time, if these things continue we will have a better understanding

Foul other teams bigs out, by constantly attacking the rim, is the only way.

Harvey needs Davenport's moxy, because Davenport doesn't see a bad shot out there. I want that for this team, because they will begin to trust themselves on the court.

DD needs to step it up too. Seems like he checks out (In game) becomes passive quickly. Get to the bucket to put pressure on other teams bigs.

Don't question dou and his timing to quit. That will offend Justin...

Hopefully Brannen and staff, see's where their outreach needs to be focused, during each game, and the rest of the season.

Honestly the players have to want it to. Keep starting different lineups without Rap and Vogt, too create excitement and opportunity for the rest of the season. Gotta find a way to make this guard heavy team compete.

Ellie was very serviceable... Diarra was very capable. Diarra should of been getting vogts mins from day one considering the potential of both... all Diarra need was more playing and to just grow comfortable out there. This team is hard to watch there are no athletes out there right now besides Keith and Eason. Everyone else looks like they would play for Nebraska or one of those odd average programs that dont get polished talent or athletes with potential. The team looks average and it's not surprising bc there really isn't anything special about Brannen. If there were guys would of stayed... there wouldn't of been a rebuild, he created the rebuild hes the one who brought in this "Talent". Its coming off like those Mason kids are busts if you cant get on the court against furman and South Florida what are we hoping for? Say what you want about Cronin the record since 2013-2014 in the AAC had been 99-27. Its 99-28 after the first lost against USF since before Huggins 1988.. The numbers, the results, Brannens dumb comments and excuses at the end of the game (Like Tennessee being a final 4 team) are all trying to show us that this isn't it

Was Tre Scott a bust? Was SK? Honest question. Weird how you are able to notice “bust “ after never seeing them play. But called diarra “capable” after seeing him screw up time and time again. What’s the difference? Oh, the coaches that brought them in

Sk was a redshirt bc of a Lance Stephenson signing, but he performed his first yr playing you could see the potential. Tre Came off like Gary Clark pretty sure he could have played his freshman yr but there were capable bodies in front of those guys. The Madsens cant see the court and theres no talent in front of them. Brannen says hes concerned about the physicality of the AAC like really??.. I bet he is. He hit with Eason but seriously we knew Vogt was garbage coming from NKU, we knew Rap wouldn't work so why didn't he? Stuff is looking pretty average right now its definitely a mid major staff I'm not waiting on a 4yr rebuild fortunately I never had to experience that really

One of the Madsens is hurt, you know that right? Hard to play when you’re hurt. But let’s just label them bust because brannen brought them in. Also Saunders looks pretty good also

Like I said earlier, it really boils down to what you want. If you want the low seed, lose every 1st weekend, or try something new. Sounds like you liked the 1st option. Which is fine.

As of right now Saunders is just on the court. Haven't seen anything difference making or separating him from any other player, just another player right now. We're supposed to be raising the bar here not settling for less and settling for rebuilds when one was never needed. All we wanted to do was raise the bar but in actuality we are going backwards. N oh my goodness does the media not like Brannen, you can read between the lines of the city paper the Enquirer by how they word these articles after these games you can tell theres some kind of angst there even with the tv commentating, these guys are sounding pretty meh on Brannen. Cronin got a lot of respect and so did the program. You inherit a job like coaching at Cincinnati you gotta bring in better talent than what we are seeing now this isn't acceptable. We cant keep blaming our best player when there isn't any talent to compliment him. We're relying on a Cronin guy now and relied on two of them last yr including the one we have now they saved his ass last yr..

This program was doing fine, all they needed was a run in the tournament.. like ok. You gotta be pretty small in your scope view if your judging an entire based off one game anyway. We needed advance but improvements were very apparent Cronin got here when he was what 34 just a young guy, really felt like he was finding his comfort zone or groove and still growing. And this isn't about Cronin it's about john Brannen and where the program is now we just lost to Brian Gregory and USF who we constantly beat and that just sucks

It’s never a smooth transition with a new coach. Look across the street at xavier. Pay attention to college basketball. It takes time with new coaches. It sucks but that’s the reality

These players have to want it. I think all 3 losses have also come down to effort. It's not there right now on either end of the court.

I get it, our guys can run a motion offense great, they've shown that. Can they be effective running it, is a different question.

Brannen has to find what his squad is good at an go...

Vogt is done and after last night, he's just a 7 foot wimp, that's going to be attacked every game.

Rap is experiencing culture shock lol! He scored well against us last year, and we did a Bengal move and picked him up lol.

Harvey looks like last year lol..speaks to off season work and coaching in regard to player growth

Maw seems hesitant, has lost some intensity

that same BS post play for Vogt should be ran for all players

Davenport can be special, like Levett, but he's got to take that attitude of his "which is great" to getting rebounds.

Tari needs Bigs he can play with, and not rescue lol! And he needs to drive from the top of the key.

DD is a wildcard, he's not a leader from the games I have seen, in this offense he should average 7 to 8 assists a game. Now that's a leader

We are okay, I kind of see the vision, the players just have to fit.

Saunders had 8 pts, 4 assist, played good D, and never looked out of control. That’s pretty good for a player that has about 30 minutes of college experience. I’m not sure what your expectations are for a guy in his 5th college game.
Cronin rarely had freshmen that came in and were great. Not sure why you are expecting that from these freshmen.

I mean that's decent we still lost, to USF... Who else was going to get those mins he better be doing something. Not to take anything away from him he did alright but we lost and as far as all that speed we've had it before with guards like Satterfield, and Downey hes not exciting me like they did but hopefully he can raise bar as of right now I'm not feeling his impact out there
