2.) This is a 10 yr rebuilding project = Not true

4.) John Reik makes UC NC favorites (said 1,000 times) = Not true
5.) This is the greatest rebuilding job ever = Not true
6.) UC should beat team A by 30 b/c we beat team B by X amount, and they beat team A by x amount (Used for Miami game) = Not true
7.) The team and fans should strive for middle of the pack = Not true
8.) Cincinnati is Cronin crazy = Not true

And consider that each of these, like most of his posts, were individually said probably a dozen times. So the 8 I used (there's dozens more) now turns into over 100, complete 100% false, statements.

And where I take the most issue is that while some know Ralphs humor (???) there many others on these boards who don't, they reply, and then it derails the thread. Add to that, why post the same thing over an over, if you're clearly pissing people off?

Greatone, maybe you think it's funny. But you would think he would have enough respect for your board to not continue to bait other posters. He knows what he's doing. That's all he does. EVER. Hell, LL is one of your friends, right? And you both have been on here long enough right? Well even LL is getting sick of it.

Bottom line, the guy's contributions are minimal at best. I don't care if he's banned, but let's be honest, no one takes anything away from those posts. They only take up space, and continue to incite people. If he gave a shat, maybe he'd tried to only post one of his hilarious statements once, rather than 20 times.

That's the whole thing, even if I don't someone will, and I'll end up reading it. Look through the posts just this weekend and you'll see LL getting pissed at Ralph (rightfully so) you'll even see the moderator Jeff telling him to be "realistic" and we all have to read that. Basically, Ralph has turned a handful of knowledgeable threads into people correcting and/or arguing with him

All I'm saying is that the guy should have some respect. This is the only board that will have him, so try to contribute or shut up. Period. It's not funny, and he's literally the ONLY person on here who doesn't even try to add anything. Every thread was moving along fine, and bam, here comes Ralph, thread temporarily derailed.

If someone "shouldn't take the bait", by definition that means he's baiting posters. And that means he a troll.

However, there is no bigger fan of the University of Cincinnati than Ralph. He does it with his wallet and his heart. That is not up for debate.

And fwiw, I have all but ignored Ralph on this board up until today. After reading a weekend of LL getting ticked, I thought I'd step in and just say what I know many think.

He brings a positive attitude about bearcat sports.

He has a sense of humor that I find entertaining. When people get all up in arms over his posts they either don't get it or enjoy it like myself.

True on all accounts, accept that he can't ever see things from the other side of the debate. And if he really believes half the stuff he posts, he is very ignorant about basketball.

I know he takes the other side on a lot of things regarding UC hoops, but reading his posts he obviously doesn't know much about basketball, which is okay. He is a typical fan who blindly follows a team/program without question. Once you realize this, you really don't care what he has to say.

My last statement on this issue. I do believe there is no bigger UC fan than Ralph1950. I believe he loves them to his core as 99% of us do. I'm not even going to address the things he says are true statement except to say I totally disagree based on my knowledge of certain situations he's made statements about.

There is no way Ralph should be banned. Sometimes he drives me nuts, but I know he is being playful and looking at things through a different pair of eyes. Do I think he sidetracks discussion purposely? Absolutely I do. Do I think what he does is constructive to UC discussion and the growing of a board? No I don't. But I support his right to say his piece and give his opinion.

I would never ask anybody to stop being themselves. But in every situation you have to ask yourself if what you are doing is helpful or detrimental. Imo, Ralph's pokes and efforts at humor go too far. Maybe people should ignore it, but they too have a right to respond.

Humor is good, but like negativity and personal attacks, if it drags discussion down it should be tempered. I'm glad Ralph is on here. I just wish he would at times understand that his humor is not constructive.

That's just my opinion and I respect Gr81's and understand why he feels the way he does. It's good to have debate as long as the debate is constructive and going somewhere. Carry on my friends and enjoy the site!!

Good post Jeff. I agree that it becomes a problem when takes away from the topic. This thread has been shot down by Ralph and more importantly others (livinglegend) taking the bait and calling out Ralph

You need to donate your money to UC. They need a new arena to play basketball. If you where any sort of true fan you would put your money into their pockets. Section 221 is not the best view for average fans like myself.
