Regarding your first paragraph, how does that not come down to coaching? He has been terrible since Napier graduated. His teams with the players he recruited have been mediocre at best.
Maybe I shouldn't try and defend Ollie, but he's not the worst coach in the World in my opinion and I would give him one more year. His teams have not always had the worst assists in the College Basketball, but they also haven't been the best.
Assits averages among college basketball
-2013-2014, 56th (1st year with Calhoun's recruits)
-2014-2015, 152nd
-2015-2016, 86th
-2016-2017, 182nd Alterique Gilbert was supposed to be their PG, and they had the 52nd, and 78th ranked recruits leave the program. Christan Vital was also in the recruiting class who in my opinion is good.
-2017-2018, 349th Gilbert is still hurt, and Jalen Adams is their PG.
A lot of their problems revolve around their PG situation. It doesn't help that players have left the programs and gotten hurt. Jalen Adams in my opinion is not really the greatest PG as in he doesn't have the best basketball IQ.
38:40, and 1:10:10 is good example of what he does way too much

When your PG is hurt of course you won't move the ball as well as you should. I agree Ollie should still do better. Next year they will have James Akinjo who I think will do well and they will also hopefully have a healthy Gilbert. He has recruited some good players like Brimah, and Purvis. They play a lot of underclassmen this year, and their basketball IQ's will only get better.
I'm just giving Ollie the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes his team moves the ball, and then sometimes they don't. The Arizona game is a good example.
