Every seat at US Bank is better than the worst 2,000 seats at 5/3 and it holds way more people.

And US Bank is a shithole.

5/3 will never sell out consistently no matter how good the team is as long as it has those awful cramped bench seats in the rafters.

What an ignorant and false comment. I hope you're aware that UC sold out EVERY SINGLE GAME in the '99-'00 season. It's about getting off your butt and going to the game. Yeah, there could definitely be renovations to the arena. But it isn't a dump like some are claiming it is. Besides, if your favorite team plays there, you go to the games, despite the facility standards.

You hope it gets better, but if it doesn't you should go and deal. Not going just makes it less likely any enhancements will happen.

We also had exciting players!

Kenyon, Melvin flying through the rafters, Logan

It is about supporting your team but it is also entertainment. That is why we pay to go see it

As a student, I've only missed two games the past 3 1/2 seasons. And they were both last year because of class. I love my Cats and hope I can go to a ton of games past my college years.

Sad thing is that I missed the Louisville game last year. I was so pissed off about that, especially seeing Pitino's comments about how it was the loudest he has heard a crowd in his career. Smh...

FWIW Lance McAlister did a poll asking why people dont go to UC games and 25% said its because of the Huggins/Zimpher fiasco.

Those polls are completely pointless. I'd be willing to bet everything I have that it doesn't even come close to accurately reflecting UC's fan base's opinions.

I was a student from 2004 til 2009, during the worst time of our bball program's history and I can honestly say I don't even think about the "Huggins/Zimpher fiasco", and haven't for a couple years. I can thank Cronin for that. Period.

11,024 is a very solid number for a Wednesday game against Rutgers, especially with how crappy our arena is. ;)

I'd be surprised if there was really 11,000 there. The upper section was pretty bare and the student section on the south end was terrible. Still, the shoe gets rocking when the fans are into it.

I've been to about 60 or so games and that was the wildest crowd I've ever been in. It was a mixture of tipoff time, Behanan, importance (standings), and rivalry. By the time that ball was tipped that place was ready to explode.

I guess last night's game was a game they were giving tickets away for buying tickets to the Belk Bowl. Probably accounts for a boost in attendance and a reason for some no-shows. Although the upper deck was pretty full (by an 11,000 attendance standard). My seats are right at the bottom of the upper deck by the stairwell coming in so I get a good look at people coming in and I saw way more people than normal last night looking lost as if they had never been to the arena before. Hopefully we won a few new fans last night or at least people that will want to come down to games.
