Bearcat players accused in nightclub altercation

A "7 footer" is who the guy claimed punched him.

This would be Cheik/Gaines/Ellis it would seem. Unless Yancy was there but I think that would have leaked out.

Maybe Justin could be confused for a 7 footer if you are embelishing. I dont know.

Well that makes it obvious that it was Ellis then right? Cheik would have missed, if Gaines punched him in the face he would likely be in the hospital still, so that leaves Ellis.

Assuming the players were of drinking age, they'd have to be over 21.

I am guessing one player will get charged with assualt and probably kicked off the team. Rumors are out there for who it is. 7 footer....

Nobody is getting kicked off the team for this. Everything I heard is that the bouncer was trying to throw his power around and something escalated. The bouncer has as much to be blamed for as the players if this is the case. I have seen this kind of stuff first hand quite a few times with bouncers. No arrests were made. Chalk it up to a bar fight. I don't like seeing UC guys involved but this stuff happens when you are young.

The bouncer has documented injuries. There are witnesses. PLAY managers also witnessed it. Whether or not you personally like the guy, he has every right to press charges against those who hit him. If its proven that it was UC player(s) that punched and kicked him, there will be serious repercussions. Especially after the Crosstown SHootout incident.

Regardless of the outcome, this is more negative publicity we don't need

I would think this is true but who knows. They did give 21 year olds a "VIP" room.

Shaq Thomas, Ellis, Sanders, Davis III are not 21.

Pretty sure everyone is...

If it is Ellis I would consider kicking him off the team. This would be second time. Only reason I wouldnt is because he has had such a rough past. Wasnt he the one who saw his step dad or dad kill his mom?

You don't chalk it up to a bar fight when UC basketball players are involved. You may not like it but they represent the university and are held to higher standards (and are made well of aware of that fact).

I'll let it play out before making any assumptions from either side of the argument.

Not sure if it's true or not, but I read on several other boards that the bouncer has been fired, that his story has flaws and changes, that his employers are unhappy with the bad publicity and think he was to blame, etc. Looks like the guy is covering his butt trying to make a big story out of this.

More to come.

The thing that is holding this whole thing up is the credibility (or lack thereof) of the victim. There were so many conflicting stories that I do not believe charges were official filed.

Can't wait until the mothership (ESPN) picks this up. I checked, and there's no story on the web site yet.

Not sure what happened but if there was any sort of fight and even if the bouncer instigated it, our guys have to be smarter than that. There are plenty of douchebags in the world with chips on their shoulders that are going to try to take them down as long as they are in the spotlight. Walk away boys.

We shall see. Still waiting on the facts and the guy seems to be pure white trash.

This is a nothing story, in my opinion formed from the youtube video, the accuser is merely out for a buck, it would not surprise me if the bouncer started the incident looking for publicity.

So you are claiming the guy purposefully picked a fight with UC basketball players in the hopes he would get beat up and get attention for getting beat up?

Who would he be trying to get money from?

Perhaps another detail. If you go to Brian McLucas' facebook page, there are tons of comments. One of several from him could be telling...

"i got blindsided by a uc basketball player who was 7 foot amd weighted over 250"

Looks like an estimated weight....

You got it as this is Deja Vu all over again.

This is Andy Kennedy at The Loft and the bouncer, cab driver. I have heard Andy paid $25,000 to the bouncer and cab driver.

Have you seen the YouTube video of the bouncer in a street fight? Not exactly quality people in my opinion. Could be someone in the trailer park punched him, not a UC basketball player.
