I'm willing to admit that I sometimes over react to how this team is playing during any given point in the season. I said after the brawl I'd wipe Mick's slate clean and give him a fair chance to see how the season pans out. I got a little antsy a couple of weeks ago but this team got the job done. Kind of hard to not be happy about where we are at right now. More than anything I'm happy for Yancy and Dixon that they get another chance to compete in the tourney.
At the end of the day my goals and expectations for this program are still higher than what a lot of people of this board might think is reasonable but it's hard to argue with Mick's last two seasons. The hope is that we keep on building and that we can get to the next level. Maybe that starts in 2 weeks? A deep run in the tourney goes a long way towards building this thing back up.
So congrats to Mick and the entire team on a job well done. Yeah, I'm critical, but at the end of the day I've still got my season tix and I'll be at every game next year too...and the year after that, and the year after that, so on and so on..........

Even though you quoted me you still didn't read what I said. I never said it was the result, so don't put words in my mouth. I said it was a part of the reason. You have posts like this antagonizing people then you have the people like BearcatMick/Ralphie who also make it worse...The same goes for the flip side with people bashing Mick for no reason other than they don't like him.
UC has finished pretty strong and has had some solid wins to go with some bad losses. I posted at the beginning of the year that Mick should be fired if this team didn't make the tournament. The comment was tongue-in-cheek but the point was that I thought this team should easily make the tournament. They were on the bubble until the Marquette win. They finished higher in the conference than I thought they would but they finished lower in the overall rankings. I thought this was a top 25 team. So while I am definitely happy that they will make the tournament, I also expected that. A lot of the reason why I expected it is because I am a fan of Cronin and think he has the potential to be a great coach. He leaves me scratching my head a lot but he still has a lot of time to get better and I know he isn't leaving UC. I also think he is put in a hard spot by veterans who are very inconsistent. I can't wait to see how these young guys develop.

Not much on pointing out peoples over reactions. I guess I'm old school. I was always taught to cheer for MY team not against the other team. All of us seem to have a interest in seeing the Cats do well. Of course there are some who post just to disrupt and annoy. The guys who truly enjoy talking Bearcat Basketball do a nice job discussing the issues.. Jeff does a great job of weeding out and banning trouble makers. I'll focus on the season when the season is done. Right now we have alot of basketball to be played. MC has righted the ship and the program is headed in a good direction. As I posted awhile ago this school has turned things around big time. Basketball and Football!!!! Very pleased to be a fan.

Ucbearcats and don't are two very emotional kids. I like their passion sometimes but other times it borders on irrational hatred and delusion.
