My take exactly.
How many times in the NFL do you see a player instigate something and the guy who retaliates gets the penalty?
This guy instigated a fight, got what he wanted, but got taken down, now he's bitching and moaning about it. Waaaa.
And it sounds like the underage thing could be a problem for the bar, so I see them denying it and moving on, if they know what's best for them.
I will wait to criticize Fox 19 until something comes out but I will be very disappointed if they took on a non story with little credibility.
I really like Joe D and I cant imagine he would be on board with this type of stuff but Brian G who is the sports director probably signed off on it.
I believe there was an incident and UC basketball players were involved. I think PLAY just knows it is going to do them a lot of harm if they push hard on this. They probably think it isnt that big of a deal (why they didnt call cops) and dont want to take the hit for having underaged drinking.

Not a mention about the incindent in today's Enquirer, real paper edition. This is dead. This incident seems nothing more than a guy looking for publicity and a TV station looking for a ratings grab. Shame on them both.
It is all about the ratings (money). 19 is the lowest rated newscast. They owe UC a big time apology. No other TV station picked up the story.
if this story turns out bogus (and i hope it does), i was curious as to how this could affect Channel19 and their coverage of UC athletics...is UC capable of prohibiting them from coverage or interviews?...i am not saying that is a good idea, because UC could use all the sports coverage they can get...just curious of their options?
Did you read the bearcats premium info? Andrew from rivals just disclosed five players who were present and a lot of the details.
Meanwhile the Bearcat Lair guys don't seem to be too worried.
We'll see what happens. I think I'm leaning towards your POV now
I disagree with this premise. If there is a victim who suffered serious injuries, the authorities need to look into the situation.
Yeah what details were released?
You've never seen a guy pick a fight and then get pummeled? I have. I see hardasses do this quite often. Think they're so tough, and when the fight starts, they underestimated what they got themself into.
I've worked at bars. You don't have a clue about what happens. I've seen bouncers do plenty of stupid things. Factor in this guy's video where he's a fighter, and then factor in that he apparently has labeled UC players "thugs", and this easily could have been provoked by him. And in the end, maybe he wanted to get pummeled so he could go to the media and give UC bad press. Maybe he's a huge Xavier fan an still upset about the black eye on Xavier and Mark Lyons being asked to leave, and how their team is going to suck next year.
Nobody knows what this bouncer was thinking or if he possibly had an alterior motive. And it is possible. Some people have an agenda.
The UC players very easily could have been baited into this.
It's not that far fetched.
My goodness you sound like a huge homer will all your ridiculous comments. Just give it a rest, you don't have a clue what happened yet you keep pretending like you do.
I'd love to see everyone's reaction if this story was released with it only saying four patrons at the bar assaulted a bouncer rather than four UC basketball players. I'd put money on you having different reactions. Throw in UC basketball players and perspectives change....The bouncer could very well be a punk and could have instigated it. The players involved could just as well be at fault....we don't know yet. Again, let it play out before you make baseless accusations from either side.
I'll tell you what my reaction would be about four regular patrons assaulting a bouncer at a grimy club: I don't give a shit.
Let me fill you in on something. D-bags go to dance clubs. Bouncers at dance clubs are aggressive meatheads who like to throw their weight around. add alcohol and you get A LOT of fighting. It happens every weekend all over the country. This is not news.

I dont care if they are UC players or not. If they are charged I want them to be punished accordingly.
I do not like that since somebody accused them of something they are now on national sports websites making the university we all care about look bad.
When something real or video comes out I will form an opinion
McLucas said he asked the players to leave the table, a request he alleges was met with a racial remark and a threat toward the waitress. McLucas said he alerted Chris Wessel, PLAY’s manager, who attempted to smooth things over.
“(The waitress’) boyfriend said, ‘you guys need to get up.’ That’s when one of the UC players jumped up and said ‘I’m up’ and shoved (the waitress’) boyfriend,” McLucas said.
“I got in between the two and I said ‘You guys need to calm down.’ That’s when I felt somebody bump into me and I got punched right in the eye. Then I took the guy to the ground who punched me. I felt being kicked in the side of my face, and then I started getting kicked in the ribs.”
McLucas said he was treated at University Hospital for a concussion, bruised ribs, a fractured eye socket, and scratches and bruises.
He said he had put in his two weeks’ notice at PLAY prior to the incident and is no longer employed there. He has identified one of the players from UC’s website but declined to name the player. He said that there were six UC players in the bar that night and claims that at least three were involved in the altercation.
McLucas said he plans to press charges.
