I've been saying all summer I think Mick goes with 2 pfs in the post.

Hearing Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin thinks this may be his best defensive team ever. Bearcats will play with three forwards + no true post.

I like it Rubles,Thomas,SK,Caupain and Lawrence. Mick also has the personell to have a bomb squad off the bench. He can also go big if he chooses. Lots of versatility and options. Can't wait for season to start.

no way. JJ is a sub and energy guy. Part of the bench squad. Lawrence is better right now without playing a minute of D-1 ball then JJ is with3 years of experience.

The starters will be Guyn/Caupain/Whoever is Pg, Kilpatrick, Thomas, Rubles and Jackson.

Lawrence will come off the bench to start the season...

It seems like a configuration that will play to the strengths of the team with our group of long athletic guys. Even without a true post they need to find a way to create high percentage shots. maybe off of defensive mismatches, turnovers, transition, etc. We can't live and die by throwing it around the perimeter and shooting 3's.

mick will want to get Lawrence acclimated early on in the OCC. he will start over JJ and talent wise he should.

I just don't see Mick having 2 freshman start from the beginning of the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see this lineup

Guyn
SK
Sanders
Rubles
Big Dave

You may be right about Lawrence later in the season but to start the year Jackson will start at the 5 as a senior. Our second or third game against N.C. State is one of the biggest all year this ain't time to get Lawrence use to college basketball.

I would be very surprised not to see either Justin or Big Dave starting at the 5. Both are seniors and are the two closest things to a 5 man defensively that we have. Lawrence should see a lot of minutes since he can play the 3-5 spots.

freshman or senior makes no difference. Lawrence is way better player than Jackson.Experience matters very little when your talking about the difference in talent between these two players. To put it bluntly JJ isn't nearly the player Jermaine is. If they were of equal ability I could understand your point but they are not.JJ's experience vs Lawrence talent is no contest. Having experience is good having talent is better. Lawrence next to Born ready my be the best recruit Mick has ever had here.

rumor has it big Dave has added weight. If so he could really help this team. Mick has indicated he may go without a true post for his starting lineup.

You can go on and on and try and back your point up with everyone that comments back to you but come game one Jackson will be the starting 5. I'm not arguing that Jackson is better than Lawrence I agree with you that Lawrence is better but that is not going to make him start game one mick will go with experience and start Jackson in less he is hurt.

you can disagree all you want but Mick will start the best 5 players. Jackson is not among the best 5 on the team.

Who starts won't matter as much as there will plenty of minutes to go around. My hope is that even without featuring a true post they figure out how to get points in the paint. Mick might be playing the mismatches that big guards and Lawrence could create. They need to get to the rim in some form or fashion - forcing turnovers and transition buckets would help. When you get to the tourney though a team needs a half-court game.
