"Become" a buckeye fan?

Haha I wish it worked that way. I tried to quit the Bengals to "become" a Panthers fan 3 years ago bc I'm a big Cam fan. Things were going great until the playoffs this year when that mother #$&@!* Shazier knocked out Bernard and didn't get a penalty. A ton of emotions that I thought were dead, buried, and forgotten came pouring out lol. Needless to say the switching teams thing was never going to work. Deep down I always knew it was a lie.

I follow both schools. Have a son who graduated and was a athlete there and a daughter who is a senior there. They loved it there. My son will root for the Cats as long as they aren't playing the Buckeyes.

I hate having to do it, but I hardly watch college football due to the combination of Tuberville being lifeless corpse and the fact that we have no bearing on the national scene.

College football is awesome even if you don't have a team in the running. I could watch any random game. And I'll pull for random teams each year nationally if we have no chance, but you're kidding yourself if you think you can switch your fandom. Like I love Clemson right now bc Dabo is the man. But I could never convince myself that I'm an actual fan. I suspect the same type situation is true for you.

It is funny when you move out of the state and you see people yell they hate Ohio then you start pulling for Ohio state.

I do not understand why Texas would want another Texas school in the Big 12. With how mediocre their team has been for the last few years, more recruiting competition would hurt them. The Governor of Texas said that it was a must to have Houston in the Big 12, it would be good for the State but horrible for all the Texas schools. Also I do not get how you could add a team that cannot play on Sunday's, and that force their students to go on a "mission" during their freshman year.

Houston will drop their opposition to a potential UT-Houston branch campus (UT has already bought the land)...

Supporters of the University of Houston have indicated they would consider dropping their opposition to the University of Texas’ expansion in Houston in exchange for a deal that allows the Cougars to join the Big 12 Conference, the American-Statesman has learned.

Assuming they expand by 4 (which is the only thing that makes sense), I think Houston gets in. Texas politics are alive and well.
