Very true. I couldn't remember if it was key or bad due to a little alcohol induced fun. I just focused on the word loss and couldn't believe they listed those teams ha. UC just needs to win! I hoping that alllll those seniors on our team realize that this is it. Now or never. Hopefully they push that sense of the underclassmen because we need them all. I am trying to get a lot of people to Sunday's game, it needs to be packed!

UC has as good or better wins than X. We don't have near the bad losses. Unfortunately their bad wins are much better than our bad wins.

I think the best win between the two was probably Temple. (Temple did beat Georgetown) Then STJ--then Georgia. Though Georgia may be in a better spot then STJ to make the tournament. If STJ didn't lose to freakin Fordham and St. Bonn they would be in a much better spot.

Also- there best win was RPI temple at 35, they have 3 top 50 RPI wins (compared to UC's 2) and Dayton is 57th-so they very well could be top 50 by years end. If they do, and X beats them again- Xavier would have 5 top 50 RPI wins going into the A-10 tournament where they could snag 1 or 2 more. As lame as the RPI is- the committee likes it for some reason and X plays the RPI game well.

UC two best wins are X and St. Johns. X's best wins are Georgia and Temple. Neither are great but UC has two RPI top 25 wins. Also, all of UC's losses have come to RPI top 20 teams while X has some bad losses with L's to Miami, Bellermine, Charlotte, and I am sure some more. But they beat a lot of teams with RPI around 100- 200 while uc was 250 and above.

Scrimmage=doesn't matter. Miami and Charlotte were bad losses though.

So AT THIS POINT, is it safe to say we take St. John's OFF of the bubble and put them safely into the tournament?

Yes, at this point they would have to lose out to miss and they still play Depaul and South Florida at home. Lock.

I don't think they would have to lose ALL their remaining games, but I agree it would take quite a collapse. As long as they hold serve at home against DePaul and USF they should be fine. Lose one of those without a big win vs. 'Nova or Pitt then they'd be in trouble. It will be interesting to see how St. John's handles this final stretch. They can really position themselves for a spot in the top half of the bracket (1-8 seed) if they finish strong.

So that leaves the following teams still on the bubble:

West Virginia
Cincinnati
Marquette

And I think it's in that order right now. WVU has by far the strongest computer profile and Marquette has the weakest.

i think the beast gets 10 with marquette getting the boot and thats kinda sad cuz they would get in if they played in the sec, acc or pac 10

They are definitely on life support right now. UC could deliver the death blow if they found a way to go there and steal one.

thats going to be such a tough game

Agreed. In my opinion @Marquette will be the biggest determining factor for the tourney remaining in the entire Big East schedule. They will probably play like we did last night against UL. Hopefully UC will be 9-7 or better heading into that game.

Absolutely not. If UC beats UConn and splits with Gtown I guarantee they're in regardless of the Marquette game.

I agree with that- though wouldn't it be nice to be the ones to put the nail in someone else's coffin for once after it's happened the past couple years to our 'Cats? Would love nothing more than to pop Marquette's bubble completely, in their own house.

Oh, I agree it's a win with possible ramifications. If you are on the bubble with another team it's good to have that head to head win. But a loss does not end their hopes. The reality is there is a conference tournament to play as well and opportunity there too.
