Help Support BearcatTalk:

Really? I think it could be a disaster. Open shooters and Harrell dominating the offensive glass. Also, I don't think we are quite as active (less deflections) in the zone.

Pick your poison. We can't get our bigs in foul trouble early or it will be a long night when they turn the focus on shutting down SK. SK will have problem enough dealing with Smith...let alone having even more attention on him.

Not sure we have anyone quick enough to guard Smith man to man. If he keeps beating his man we are going to get in some foul trouble inside.

We shall see. I would defer to Cronin. If JJ plays, and he is not somewhere around 100%, I am not sure man D is our best option.

You make some valid points and I don't disagree this game will be tough.

I see posts like this all the time on this board when UC has a tough game coming up but then people wonder why the fan support isn't tremendous for this team. Let me be very clear that I'm not saying you're the reason why fans don't support the team. What I'm pointing out is that there are many people out there who don't have confidence or believe that UC is very good. Even I still have some doubt in the back of my mind as to how good this team really is.

If the die hard fans aren't totally bought in then how can we expect the casual fans to be bought in? At what point can we look at ourselves as being a legit threat to compete against the big boys?

Once we get to the point where people aren't afraid to play a Louisville but actually excited and confident about the opportunity to beat them I think that's when we'll see the buy back from community.

This is the ONLY game I don't think we have a reasonable chance of winning home or on the road (because of certain circumstances). Especially with Lawrence out and JJ injured and it being on the road against what I feel may be a top 5 team. If they (JJ and JL) were both at 100% I would think our chances go up about 20% or more. I would put our chances between 10-20% without them and maybe 30-40% with them. Without JJ (let's assume he doesn't play)...SK is the sole focal point of the UL defense...shut him down and you are asking guys who average between 4 and 7 points to win this game against a big time team on the road.

I am a guy who never says never though. That's why they play the games. I would be ecstatic if they prove me wrong. If they beat UL, on the road, under these circumstances, I will be thinking about running the table and a Final 4.

Mick is I believe 4-5 against Pitino. I understand why people are saying what they're saying and totally get UC being the underdog. I am not picking UC because I'm being a homer. I just have a feeling if JJ is healthy and plays they are going to win. I've been wrong before but I look for a helluva effort from the Bearcats.

One thing that is tough to predict is the "underdog effect". Practically nobody is picking UC...we have built a lot of respect but in this game we have about zero. Our team has to have a HUGE chip on their shoulder and may come out balls to the wall. Even our most dedicated fans are mostly picking UL with "rain with a chance of partly cloudy" for UC.

That is bulletin board material for UC and Cronin and those DETERMINED seniors. I hope they respond and give us all a show. I hope JJ is recovered.

Vegas currently has Louisville as a 9 point favorite, per Lance McAlister.

I hate to say it but I would take UL and the spread if I were betting my own money in Vegas. Fortunately I am not in Vegas and I have no money.

If JJ can play even at 90% I would think twice...but unless he were 100% I would still bet UL and the spread.

Keep in mind I am usually very optimistic...I like our chances in every other game this year.

I saw on another UC site (posted by Lobot) that JJ was listed as "probable". I didn't even know they had that distinction in NCAA BB...I thought that was an NFL thing.

Not sure if it's a reliable prediction but it certainly boosts my spirits a little.

If we play JJ and he is not 100% and he gets re-injured it will be one of the dumbest mistakes in the history of UC BB.

That being said...I trust Cronin will make the best educated decision on JJ and JJ won't have shyte to do with it. If he doesn't play against UL I would hope he doesn't play against USF.

Not surprised, but good news.... RT @bkoch: #bearcats At this point, Justin Jackson is expected to play tomorrow vs. Louisville. @ENQSports

No doubt in my mind that JJ would be sitting if the ankle were still an issue. If he plays, I expect a full contribution and for him to do his thing.

did they ever say if he was playing or not? he did miss last years game im sure he plays 100% or not this is a big game well either pull away from the field or memphis and louisville will catch up its a dam big game

Can't be mad at the start. If we can stop turning it over we might hang in this!

The defense has just been absolutely fantastic. I am concerned about their press, we seem to bring too many guys into the backcourt, I think Mick will start to clear them out and have guys run from halfcourt back towards the ball...

They needed halftime in the worst way, the guys looked gassed. UC gets the ball to start the half, they have to start out and deliver another punch to get it to double digits.
