If UC had to join a conference (football only lets say), where would you like to see them land?

I like the ACC if we could pick because we would immediately be contenders to win the league every year while keeping or even improving on recruiting. The SEC would be rough and I don't know that UC has the money to compete in that conference for football.

I picked ACC, as UC would fit better into that league. Also, our targets of recruiting match the ACC pretty well. Texas, OK, NE, KN are not places we are active in.

We may not have a say at all. How desperate does the BE look by trying to force ND into coming all in or leaving entirely? People are very nervous right now.

ACC would be the best deal. First of all, we are still in the eastern timezone with the rest of the schools. Second, we would be playing against a lot of schools that we have established rivalry's with (I would assume UL, WVU and possibly UCONN would be in, as well as possibly Va Tech, and I think playing against BC would be good for the university as a whole since so many GCL kids head up that way).

B12 would not be bad but just as not as good as ACC. We would be in the B12 North and playing the likes of Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State.... well now that I think about sign me up for the ACC.

I can't give an honest opinion because there would be plusses for any of them (except CUSA). Honestly I think the Big 10 would be the best fit, even though it won't happen, simply because of proximity to other schools and how well opposing teams fan base would be willing to travel to our home games if we can't sell a big stadium out ourselves, plus the rivaly with OSU could really explode our program if we could win some against them, which I think we would. It would make local talent a lot less likely to go to OSU over us if we were considered their "equal" on the field. Lets be honest we're still lil bro in most people's eyes, especially outside of the city.

Here's a crazy thought, if ND does end up deciding to join the Big 10 and the Big East still gets raided maybe our old friend BK could put us on his hip and say they join if we join. I know it will never happen.

I am nervous because I cannot find my beer.

...He literally would never do this. I bet UC is the last thing on his mind. I know you said "I know it will never happen" but part of you has to think it could or else you would never say it.

In regards to the thread- ACC all the way.

IF Rutgers is the only team that leaves, I want to stay in the BEast. How hard can it be to replace a mediocre football team and horrible basketball program? All the things they bring... market, good school, money, etc, mean very little to me as a sports fan.

Just replace them with Boise, Memphis, or if you have to UCF or ECU and lets move on.

I agree with that, although we'll have to see what happens. This thing is going to drag on for awhile.
