Wide open 3s are always good shots. We have 6 rotation guys shooting over 37% from 3. And Clark is even 33.3%.

yeah and our missing wide open ones yesterday shows that good shooters wont always hit them in college. unfortunately we missed all 3 of ours and florida hit all 3 of theirs when left wide open.

then you have to expect that is what the other team will try to force us to.let me ask you this. If you were a opposing coach how would you play us? I would double Kyle and Gary and try to make you shoot 3s. That is exactly what they do. If Kyle won't or can't find the open man what are your options? Are you just going to throw it around the perimeter?
I would like to see them throw inside to Gary or Kyle, but giving it to them 15. Feet away from basket and trying to have them force there way down another 12 feet will not work. Kyle especially needs to post closer to basket so all he has to do is his unblockable patented shot. Gary needs to be aware quicker of the double team. Either wait until it leaves or pass ball out to open shooter. Both have to establish position closer to basket. All wings need to use pump fake to get defender off balance. And if 3 ball isn't falling, take ball strong to basket.

Yes. I considered that the level of competition was the reason we can’t run. That is 100% way we don’t try to run. I was just saying, this year was not different, at all
I think our efficiency will improve as the season goes on. I actually think walking through the schedule would not be good for this group. I want to play well in March. I'm not hung up on seeding. I know it creates a advantage but I want to be playing well when it counts the most. Let's see how it all plays out.

yes yes yes! watch where our bigs actually catch the ball. they get pushed out easy and it leads to our bad spacing. often times the help defender from the perimeter can double clark/wash and still be guarding the 3 point line.

I appreciate your view point. Even if I don't agree. Do you think maybe that has something to do with the level of competition? Unlike most I'm not hung up on style. I just want to win. Slow, fast doesn't matter. I generally find that life is pretty simple. Play to your strengths and exploit the opposition weaknesses.

We were told that we played so slow bc it was Caupain's style. That's clearly not Broome or Jenifer's natural game. Especially not Broome. But I think we'll be 11-2 headed into AAC. We just have to see how things unfold. I'm hoping yesterday was just a hiccup.

This is not new. If we know these things as people that simply watch the game, I am positive the coaches, that watch every game of every team multiple teams know the strengths and weaknesses of their team. All you can do is try to counter them and I am not sure mick does the best job of that. He seems to be stuck in his ways at times.

Jake I think your right but I mentioned earlier I want to see more of Broome at the wing and Evans at the point. We played that way a bit early. Cane is a scorer. Evans is comfortable as a facilitator. It will be interest to see how this plays out.

if you aren't shooting wide open 3s in todays game you're doing it wrong.

First off, I agree to some extent. But if you are banking on a 3 in a close game at the college level. You are going to lose the majority of those games. It’s a low percentage shot and if you need a bucket, there might be higher percentage options. Maybe not. Also, if shooting is so important, why aren’t we recruiting 5 Trevor Moore’s every year? Obviously mick does not think it is

I think Mick does a good job playing to the strengths of his players. If he didn't with the players he has excess to we would not be in the field every year.

That is not accurate. I have been to many games and Mick has urged him to run up the floor often.

and many more when he urged him not to. i just think troy got so set in being slow that when mick wanted him to speed it up mick had to tell him.

we shoot 37.6% from 3 as a team. that ranks 88th in the country. the 3 is not a low percentage shot in college anymore.

I don’t think making the field is anything great if you don’t make a run every once in a while. Simply making the field doesn’t do much for me

I'm sure game management was controlled by Mick but TC was not a physically run it up the floor type player. Very slow a foot.

Your exactly right. Couldn't of said it better myself. With relative ease the other team can double our post and barely move to get back into position. When was the last time we threw the ball in and then had someone cut to basket. Our big guys can pass. Just no one to pass it to.
