I would love to hear some opinions from the people who were at the game and to whoever watched it about the experience with it being at us bank. I think its funny because Mick clearly wants it there every year and Mack wants it back on campus. Personally, I hope it is played there every year because I don't think we get a fair game at cintas and Mack knows it. Mack in post game comments said in the 2nd half he felt he was playing an away game.
Secondly, I think why not make this down there every year and give the fans equal opportunity to enjoy and get rowdy. It really seemed like a NCAA tourney game with both crowds going crazy when each team scored.
It will be interesting after next year to see what will happen. It is clear both sides have different opinions but its kind of obvious to why.
I also think they should and will have to include it in the season ticket packages or give them a really good discounted price. I wish we could play it on UC's campus but if playing at us bank means not having to go to cintas I am totally OK with that.

Until last night, I've wanted to cancel it. It does nothing for UC. Nothing. It will always be David (Xavier vs. Goliath (UC), no matter which team is ranked. And for the past 20+ years, I've been watching UC show up tight and uninterested for the game and X show up loose with nothing to lose and upset on their minds.

And the atmosphere at X is far more hostile than at UC. X fans, players and coaches have an inferiority complex and have extreme hatred of UC that leads them to be extremely hostile. I've been to many Shootouts at the Shoe, and I've never seen a hostile crowd there for that game.

I thought last night's game was well officiated, well televised and announced, and it seemed fair all around. It was a sloppy game. But it was under control.

Plus fans from both teams get to go and enjoy it as a city celebration. In fact, I thought getting both teams together and going to the Freedom Center was a great idea. When you spend some time with new people, you get to know them and are less likely to misbehave in a future situation. Players from both teams got to know eachother and I think that diffused any tension too.

If I'm UC, I only agree to play the game in the future the same way it was delivered last night. Good job all around. And not just because we won.

The game should be played at US Bank Arena.

The ticket should not be part of the season ticket package, continue to give the season ticket holders the first opportunity to buy as was done this year.

The upper level tickets should be raised by $10 to $45 and the second pricing should be raised by $5 to $55. Tickets would then be $45, $55, $75, $125. This is the biggest game of the year and UC especially needs it to be a big revenue producer.

The atmosphere was great down there. We ended up with tickets in the middle of the Xavier section and had a great time. No hostility, just a lot of cheering. The UC side was full while the Xavier side had the whole upper section almost empty, and a lot of red around us! I thought the refs did a great job and the players showed class all night. I was proud of our city!

Watched on TV, so no first hand knowledge of atmosphere.

But I think this series belongs in an on campus arena.

Love the nuetral site. ESPN kept talking about how good the atmosphere was. UC is also like 18-0 in US Bank Arena.

We really need to improve our homecourt. As big a fan as I am. I have to be honest and say there are some games I stay home rather then go sit on a hard bench with no back to watch the team.

Are you fucking joking? RAISE ticket prices? That place is a dump! Most of the seats aren't even facing the court unless directly on the side or behind the basket. Look, I think the game should be there and I think the atmosphere last night was good but I think ticket prices in the 200 level should actually be lowered. Once you factor in all the ridiculous Ticketmaster charges, it ended up being $45 per ticket in the upper sections.

Keeping the ticket prices high raises the Fan Quality Index (FQI). One of the reasons for the amicable atmosphere last evening was high prices kept the rift raft troublemakers out and the better quality people in.

If you want to keep them where they are, ok fine. I think it is gouging but whatever, I bought a ticket. Raising prices is stupid though. Last I checked, the game didn't sell out.

"I love Mick, but I don't agree with him,'' Xavier coach Chris Mack said. "[Playing the game] on campus has always been good. It's one man's opinion and he's entitled to it. But it was a great atmosphere.''

Cronin said he doesn't have a say in where the game is played. Neither does Mack.

"We said after two years we would think about it,'' Xavier athletic director Mike Bobinski said. "It was a loud atmosphere. It had a great feel to it. But he doesn't make the decision. Both of us have a vested interest in having it on campus.''

Chris Mack is an idiot. "Playing the game on campus has always been good." Really Chris Mack? Really? Last year, was it a good atmosphere? Because your fans (under the guise of a jesuit catholic institution) get hammered, yell inappropriate things at our players and throw stuff....and that makes it difficult to play for our kids...that's a good atmosphere.

And Bobinski..."Both of us have a vested interest in having it on campus." Also false you prick. Mick Cronin just said it should be played every year at a netural site so don't speak for us dingbat.

This is all so obvious. Half the time X wins becuase the game is on their court with crappy refs and their drunk, fans who claim to be under the guise of a jesuit institution, treat it likes it's the super bowl.

I love Mick Cronin. He is absolutely right. Neutral site. Take away the X hatred factor...which clearly exists a lot more on their turf. We have bigger fish to fry.

I like the idea of a neutral court because I think the game is called more fairly. I feel like officials get intimidated at the Cintas center because of the nastiness of the XU fans. As a result, UC, more often than not, seems to get the shaft. I don't know if it happens that way at 5/3rd but I truly believe that UC has an advantage at US Bank arena and that is why XU is so against keeping it there. On a neutral court, in a fair atmosphere, the better team will win more times than not.

I was there last night and it was a great atmosphere. I really enjoyed the fans from both sides cheering and going back and forth as we traded baskets.

Before last night, I was against the neutral site. But it really was a good experience and it did take the hostility out of the game. Just clean, hard basketball. This also allows fans from both sides to attend each year.

I say leave it downtown for good. I'll trust Mick's judgment over Mack's anytime :D Lower the prices about $10 a piece. After fees and charges, the cheapest tickets you could get were about $100 for 2. This game would have and will in the future sell out if the prices were slightly less. Great experience overall though.

P.S. I ended up in the Xavier section and was yelled at by X fans for standing up during the game. I will never understand people that get upset at people standing. If you want to sit on your ass, buy a seat in the suites.

It went much better than any of us could have imagined. Had a really NCAA tournament or conference tournament game feel. Considering how well it went, it is really a no brainer to keep it at US Bank.

Are you really Richard from Indian Hill?

I really like the idea of keeping it at US Bank, and the biggest reason is that I think it gives UC an advantage. Like people have stated, the hostility at Cintas is just nuts and I don't think it matters who X throws out on the floor, I think they've always got a good shot at beating us there. If it were at US Bank every year, I think the winner of the game is more likely to actually be the better team, rather than a flip of a coin.

Spot on with these comments. This is why I have ZERO respect for Xavier. They know damn well they get beyond favored at home and their fans are some of the worst I see. They feel like the little brother when they play at US Bank. If I were UC I wouldn't even flinch at thinking about moving it back to campus. Until things change at cintas as a coach I wouldn't put my players at that kind of risk and disrespect. Xavier's insecurities really show when they make remarks like that.

Insecurities? Like caring about their season ticket holders, students, and fans? I wish UC did that.

Xavier has no one else to blame if they wanted it to be a home and home. The brawl happened in their arena, because of their players, and because of their fans.

Deal with it.
