Didn't someone say Baylor is in our tournament?

If we play Baylor (N), Mississippi State (A), Xavier (H), Ohio State (H), UCLA (H), I can't imagine we won't lose 2 of those at the very least.

13-5 in conference play seems about right to me. I hope that's not too optimistic. We might REALLY struggle on the road.

I'll say we lose 3 of the harder games. I'd go worse but 1-4 in that with only 1 road game would be really bad.

And then I think we'll lose one other random game or I'll be off on AAC.

22-9 and 1-1 in AAC Tournament

23-10 entering NCAA as a 9 seed? Lose 1st round bc of like the refs or bad luck or something? So don't even bother playing it out?

Without knowing our full OOC schedule, I won't comment on that, but assuming our conference schedule mirrors that of last season's, it'll likely look like.

Home AND Away
Wichita St
Houston
SMU
UConn
Memphis
UCF
Temple

Home OR Away
Tulane
Tulsa
ECU
USF

I could see us doing very well at home still. Possibly 7-2 or 8-1.

There'll be a lot more variability on the road, especially with a lot less projected space between the best and worst teams in the conference. I could see us going between 4-5 and 7-2.

11-7 at the worst. 15-3 at the best. 13-5 seems pretty likely.

Jarron Cumberland will be th best player on the floor vs nearly every conference opponent and even most of our non conference opponents.

I think Keith ends up having a big year too.

I mean, wherever you stand on Mick, you cannot deny that he makes players better. Keith and Trevor will improve. Diarra is really skilled athletic just needs to get his IQ up. I loved Tre Scott in the 2nd half of the year and he scoring around the rim was pretty good in the 2nd half.

We will be fine. I even think we have a chance at a 4-6 seed

I can't believe how all these players people enjoyed last year are all of a sudden not going to progress AT ALL. We only see the negative, not gonna talk about how Scott is a good passer and can spread the floor, if he can work on his mid range game he could do a lot for us. nsoseme is an excellent defender and with give us good bench minutes. Williams and Moore with both be better next year, guarantee that. Cane is gonna have more room to do what he does, jenifer will as well. We know Cumberland is going to be a stud next year. This team is not gonna suck. I know we lost 3 great players, and that's a lot to worry about. But only Washington was a top 100 guy, Clark and Evans both came in at the same rankings as players we have now. Will the guys we have now be as good as them one day, probably not, but they're certainly gonna get better. 22-9 puts us at 5-7 loses in conference at least. Or that we lose to every good team we play in OCC. it's just sad how easily some of your peoples faith is broken, Id hate to see you going through a tough time in your life. Just lay down and die, smh. I would say 22-9 is worst case, 26-5 best. I personally think we go 25-6 off the top of my head, 14-4 in conference and 11-2 outside. We are going to be better than a lot of you believe, I guarantee it.

K. Williams homer here. I don't know why he played as bad as he did, but he has too much talent not to be a starter next year. I was actually thinking he might transfer, which I hope is not the case.

He needs to completely overhaul his shot. But based on how guys like Shaq Thomas and Titus Rubles went through here, I doubt that will happen. If he were to transfer, I think it'd be after next year. If we land this Fredericks guy and he's decent, he and Moore will take the minutes on the wing not occupied by Cumberland. There were key games where Williams didn't even get off the bench. And if his shooting is anything like it was this year, it won't get a whole lot better. Cronin has already decided he likes Moore better no matter what. It's going to be an uphill climb for Williams unless something changes.

He was a freshman, but let’s not pretend this one is on Mick. Williams just wasn’t very good. He is athletic....and that was it. Hopefully the year and off-season of work will improve his game.

I wouldn't say that was it, he was a strong driver to the basket, one of only 3 players on our team who could beat their man off the dribble. He tried too hard, in part, I think, because his minutes were so limited he felt he had to ball out to earn more. Moore got minutes because he apparently was a great defender and shooter. Good defender, below average shooter.
Someone mentioned it late in the season, eventually bill self had to give the minutes to Newman because he was the most talented for the spot and needed minutes to fulfill his potential. He was arguably their best player by years end.

I just think Cronin castrates players in pursuit of defensive perfection.

I agree that Cronin takes confident players like Broome and Williams and beats them down to a point where they are so afraid to make a mistake that they are a shell of what they were or could be.

Weren't you all about Williams being the better of the two at the end of the season? Lol

He was a bad shooter that wouldn't stop shooting. But yeah that's because mick beat him down...

Lol people always say this and yet Sean Kilpatrick was developed completely in house and is a relentless scorer. Evans and Cumberland both have the ultimate green light.

The only thing Cronin maybe faulted for is not trusting his players quick enough. Cronin wanted his best players to shoot before any one else and I don’t blame him.

He was a relentless scorer in part because he was the ONLY scoring option his last two years. not saying he isn't a great scorer, but his leash was non existent because it was the only option Cronin had.

Look what jay wright did in the championship game. Divincinzo was hot, so he had things go through him. He was not the best player on Villanova, but it Won him a ship. Cronin would never have the balls to make a move like that. He'd force Jake to play point ISO and jack something up.

I just fear Cronin doesn't know how to find e mix between game plan and taking what the game gives you.

I don't think he's that bad a shooter, his form is off center, but Cumberland has terrible form as well. The reason JC can make em is mostly confidence IMO. That why when his misses it's usually a pretty bad miss.

What I don't understand is, you defend yourself as if you are not a Cronin apologist, but yet every time someone speaks against him, you defend him.

It seems most people think Moore is a good shooter and Williams is a bad shooter but if in conference games/ conference championship and ncaa tournament games they had the same ft %--- fg% 31% Moore 30% Williams and even #pt% was 28% Moore--- 20% Williams there is not a lot of difference there to be calling one good and one bad.

I don't know of anyone that watched games last year and thought Moore was a good shooter....other than Cronin I guess!

Williams was awful on D most of the time, he wasted offensive opportunities with bad shots. Moore was simply less risk (less reward) on the floor which I was perfectly fine with as long as the lineup on the floor allowed for that. We had 5 guys that could score. Needed 2 on the floor at all times...if that was the case, having Moore out there was indeed better than Williams.

Next year, assuming Evans is gone, we are going to need Williams offense...so I hope that kid works his butt off this summer.
