That's the thing there is no balance with this team. His best bet is more than likely space the floor and put it in jc hands. Let our shooters be ready to spot off his drives. Less vogt and sorollo at the top of the key looking for backdoor cuts. I liked some of thier post positioning thoe, they are big screening body's run some shooters off of those. Reading some of the body language of the guys I hope for the yrs sake they all buy into something affective real soon. They should be alright but considering the roster depth Brannen is going to have to box the gameplan up somewhat the rotation is gonna need legs by the end of the 2nd half
Only one game in, but it seemed like everyone but Jarron on this team is pretty one dimensional on offense. Jaevin can shoot threes, but isn't a major threat to drive. McNeal and Williams can drive but haven't shown the shooting ability to be a major concern. Vogt/Sorolla can score in the post, but they also miss shots and commit turnovers, so you can take their best shot and not worry about doubling them - and you can double off them any time they leave the post. Scott also hasn't shown the finishing ability to be a major threat.
So we either iso Jarron and hope he can carry us, or we need somebody else to step up. I think we are best off with Vogt/Sorolla out of the game. It allows us to surround Jarron with guys good enough at shooting threes that they can't be ignored. It also opens more driving lanes. We can use Scott as the big in the pick and roll and be better off. Vogt/Sorolla don't really contribute enough on the defensive or rebounding ends to make up the difference.
We also need a couple guys off the bench to step up. We basically only played 7 last night and that isn't going to work. And those 7 included Vogt/Sorolla who I think we'd be better off not having on the court for the most part. If we can't get a lot more quality bench minutes than we got last night, we are going to have players wearing down in the second half of the season - if not earlier.
