Gary Clark

Gary is a lot of fun to watch. Great hands and seems to be focused. Looks like he is starting to be much more consistent with his effort. I'd say staff and player have done a good job.

Cronin has talked about getting him more FG attempts. I know Coach Davis has also said he talks to Clark about not being able to score 15-20 on 4 or 5 shots. Cronin has also said he gets disappointed if he misses shots. Lol. Out of anyone on the team, he should be worrying about this the least. Seems like he's turning a corner and competing at a high level every game. The guy who had 0 vs X and 2 games without a reflection earlier in the year is long gone.

I love Gary but I'm still not sure he's capable of becoming a everyone else hop on my back while I carry us to victory type of a player.

He is progressing along rather nicely though and he's going to be a very good piece of the puzzle, hopefully Gary can overcome the Mick factor quicker than Yancy was able to. By the time Yancy figured it out he was into the last March of his career.

I think you could argue he has it figured it out.

Gary Clark is improving as the season unfolds. I love when he gets the ball off the boards and dribbles up the floor. His game is evolving. Range, passing defense and rebounding. if I could change anything I wish he was more vocal.

Just to piggy back on this a little Waite.

In addition to what you have mentioned I like that he seems to have found out he's got a couple more post moves after becoming more aggressive. he's found more ways to get it in the bucket. He seems pretty proficient at all of them. The fade away in the lane has also opened up the option for the fake fade and one step up and under to the hole.

I know he is kinda quiet but I have seen him being a little more vocal for himself after big plays and for big plays by others. Moreso than last year or early this year.

He's only a sophomore too. I'm excited about the jump he can make in production from year 2 to year 3. It is not out of the question for Gary to average 16-17 ppg and 11-12 boards per game next year.

He could average close to 4 assists too.

Absolutely. His post moves are becoming natural not forced. He really looks like he has a idea and is setting up his defender.

he certainly has the talent

Lol! I'd say your right. Long gone.

I would obviously be ecstatic about those numbers in his junior year but if he improves each year like he did this year...3pts and 1.5 rebs...by his senior year that's about exactly where he would be. I would expect something more like 14 and 10 next year (although that's basically what he's been doing the past 4-5 games).

We need to start feeding him on the break and finding him for some half court alley oops!

He really is, I've seen many aspects of his game that have progressed this season, when he gets a rebound and goes i love it, truly is really good on fast breaks. His passing has been jumping out to me really seem like he gets the game. I slowly seeing his game expand with those threes. Great player, but best part about it is he can still get so much better, high ceiling here for him.

Up to 52 nationally in ESPN's PER. He has the 2nd lowest USG of anyone in the Top 100. Keep putting the ball in his hands!

1st on team in blocks, rebounds, 2 pt %, 3 pt %

2nd in assists (probably will end 2nd in points)

3rd in steals

He will be Cronin's first 1st round pick. Larry Davis also deserves a lot of credit.
If he stays 4 years, he'll be 24 years old before his rookie season starts. Hard to be a 1st round pick. I've seen him compared to Paul Millsap and he was the 47th pick and left after his junior year and was just 21 when his rookie season started (same age as Clark is now).

If we made a deep run in the ncaa tournament like final 4 deep than I could see him leaving for the draft, otherwise he has at least 1 more year.
