Gary Clark

He will be Cronin's first 1st round pick. Larry Davis also deserves a lot of credit.

Idk about a first round pick but I think he can make a role in the league a la Fortson or Ruben Patterson. Not a superstar but a 5+ yrs pro.

It's early but I honestly feel that Evans has the most legit chance to be a first round pick. By the time he is a junior he will be a beast. If Troy dedicates himself to handles and his long range shot this offseason, he could be a undrafted sleeper. Ellis should be on this list but idk what went wrong.

If he stays 4 years, he'll be 24 years old before his rookie season starts. Hard to be a 1st round pick. I've seen him compared to Paul Millsap and he was the 47th pick and left after his junior year and was just 21 when his rookie season started (same age as Clark is now).

Do you think Millsap went 47th bc he was off the radar a bit at La Tech? Do you think maybe bc of guys like Millsap and Draymond, that teams in the NBA are more eager to take 4s with that skill set? The game has changed since Millsap was drafted in 2006. Also, if Clark is a dominant player who continues to stuff the stat sheet, will it really matter if he's 23 when he gets drafted? I personally don't think so. Clark is shaping up to fit very nicely into the modern NBA. He's got a ways to go, but I believe in his game that much.

Exactly, when he's conditioning improves and hit gets chance to play with better spacing/passing sky is limit. My pre season scouting report is on money with Clark. He looks good in transition and looks more comfortable facing up than back to basket

Screw age all I know is I'll take sophomore Clark over Kenyon, mad max, hicks and Yancy
if his conditioning and handle continue to improve the sky is the limit for him. I agree at this point in his career his developement is ahead of all the players you mention. Yancy was probably the only one who had his overall game at Clarks level but Yancy didn't want it enough.

I think clark is becoming the stretch 4 your were talking about earlier in the year. If he keeps shooting like he is on the perimeter teams are going to have to guard him out there.

Loving his progress. When he can't be doubled he's ungardable that's why its important to surround him by shooters so they can't double on him. He's averaging 15 and 10 over the past 8 games and I see that continuing. He's going to explode next year, his game will benefit greatly playing next to washington who is a shooting threat the lane is going to be open

Yeah, even still I'll take Clark now over all them guys SR year besides obviously Kenyon.

It's early but I like Clark. ALOT. HICKS was a 15pt 10 reb 3.3blk /gm and one of the best defenders and most feared guys in the nation. If he was taller he would of played a long time in the league. MAX'S career speaks for itself and he was undersized also. But Gary has it.

Max and Hicks were much more aggressive and slightly better defensively than Gary. However Gary is light years ahead in terms of passing and bball IQ.

Yeah but that Wingfield guy was the best frosh I have ever seen. I would take freshman Wingfield over Sophmore Clark.

lol ... prisoner of the moment much? I am a huge Clark fan , but Max was a starter and a a main component of 4 tournament teams, including a number 1 seed tournament team. Oh yeah, and a 10+ year NBA vet and first round draft pick. Lets slow down a little bit here.

Max had better coaching and talent around him. He struggled like Clark against the big boys though. Even got outplayed by smaller Hayes in his last game. Max or hicks wouldn't been allowed to be themselves with mick. Clark has skills no four ever at uc ever had. He can shoot, rebound, pass, dribble, run, average d, blocks. I could see him getting triple double every game next year if conditioning improved.

Yeah I left him and fortson off on purpose. Wingfield and Johnson are our highest rated recruits ever. Wingfield probably Huggins best player ever

I just wanted to post this to remind everyone of Gary's athletic ability. He is doing some ridiculous things in this video. Obviously the competition is low but it's amazing how he is flying to the hoop. Is it just me or do we hardly see this from him now.

I'm not saying he is out of shape now at all because he is putting up great numbers. But he always seems gassed. Hands on hips, sucking wind.

Just interesting looking back.

I feel like lots of big guys get gassed easily as underclassman. I bet we'll see explosive plays more often from him the next 2 years.

If you complied a highlight reel of Gary this year, it would be equally impressive. I'm sure in HS he had to give little to no effort on the D side of the court and he was by far the superior athlete on the court. Did you see the size of the kids he was playing against?

Gary is a monster and will continue to develop.

I think the next step in his game will be he'll now have to learn how to handle a double team nearly every time he gets the ball, all the more reason for Mick to put guys on the court around Gary that can knock down shots.

I mentioned at all star game he played in high school how he was always last man down court and lack of explosiveness against best of best. It's more confidence issue I believe than conditioning. Gary probably NEVER been to a city until he started playing aau, almost like he's from another country the way he carries himself. Just seems so shy

Pretty sure he was tripled and doubled teamed in middle school. He needs gets a lil stronger with ball but he rarely fumbles and bumble with ball

I agree. To me were comparing apples and oranges.here. Those mentioned were the most feared defenders in the league. They swatted jumpers while they were in the lane. Noone got cheap buckets on CATS for years. We're comparison g offense to defense. But honestly I'd take any of the pre mentions intensity and nastiness over Gary right now. Maybe he'll turn into K-Mart. One could only hope. Hell I could add a long list of guys that I'd love to see a player play like them again. 2 quick one I-MAC (ALL TIME FAV) and Mickael
