Steele is an awful comparison. Because this time last year, Steele was developing a cultural identity of defense first (20th in defense) AND had a 24th ranked class coming in with 3 4 stars, and multiple best scorer in their conference transfers.

They didn’t like it. Because they didn’t understand the vision.
But now it’s clear, start with defense first. Build a culture of defense not often seen at Xavier while also littering the program with talent.
If John has a vision. I’d love to know. It’s not an identity of offense and it’s not one of defense. Just one of losing.
And in 2021. Steele already has 2 players signed with one being a 4 star. They are frickin loaded.
Let’s be flat out real.. our roster is mid major in comparison to theirs. Next season, it’s even more mid major.

How you can see the vision now that Steele was trying to build. How xavier fans could not see it, but you could. That part. That’s nonsense. About building a culture. Truth is it takes time, but instead of just saying that, you made up this nonsense how it took Steele time because he was building something and brannen isn’t. Also nonsense.

I was a clear skeptic from day zero. His resume did not jump off the page to me.
But again, I’ve been opened minded about being wrong. I still am.
But everything about Brannen has rubbed me wrong. He gives zero access to guys like Chad brendel, he has less media availabilities then even Mick, he destroyed our toughness culture built by 2 coaches over 30 years in less than 2 years, he refuses to adapt to the new reality in recruiting, and his defensive philosophy and coaching are just brutal
