Cronin blast that no call intentional foul. Also blasted the refs that JJ tip-in that the refs called on floor and took the basket away. Cronin also talked about how bad our defense was the 2nd half. We couldn't get rebounds. Also said illegal screens killed us. He thought because we scored 40 points in the 1st half UC started to think they were an offensive team which led to poor defense.

In a nut shell...UC didn't play well with the lead. Pretty sure we have all heard and seen that before.

Team got a lead and took the foot off the gas; it was a big change of pace from the thought process going into Memphis. This will be addressed and does not really concern me.

The refs were bad, and big Dave actually played pretty well, but Jackson must stay on the floor. He has been much better at that this year.

See it looked to me like they half way went for it, which is the worst way to do it. Either way the ball would have been in their hands if they weren't so caught up on just watching the game. SK was giving up 3's like crazy and wasn't making attempts at closing on the shooter.

Oh I'm not arguing the awful effort on D by both of them the entire second half it was embarassing from a 5th year senior, completely agree with you there.

I'll preface this by saying that I'm at least happy that they got the win. Better than UConn can say. But:

That was one of the most pathetic performances for a half that I've ever seen. 21 points in the half, and losing the half by 15 to freaking Houston? They showed no effort the entire half. JJ was terrible, Rubles was a pansy, SK should be embarrassed for the way he defended, Thomas was crap and the list goes on. At least Sanders of all people played a decent half.

Even when the game was on the line they made half ass attempts to get loose balls. JJ didn't even attempt to rebound the late 3. He let his man just waltz right by him not only for the rebound but for an easy layup. Then there is a loose ball with the clock expiring and Thomas just watches it while a player picks it up and nails a 3. Luckily there wasn't any foul that might have tied it up.

I'd much rather them have a learning experience while winning than losing. At least KJ could actually make a FT unlike SK, Troy, and JJ who went 2-6 in the last minutes of the game.

Agreed. First half AWESOME! Second half was PATHETIC. I think they went into half and thought they would cruise because they didn't play anything close to the D we saw in the first half in the second half. It WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE. Not because UH shot well...but because we DID NOT play D the way we played in the first half. If we did...it wouldn't have been a game.

Thanks for the recap. Completely forgot about the blown call on the JJ tip-in. We always seem to relax on defense when we start scoring. I bet the deflections total in the 2nd half has to be one of the lowest of any half all season. Zero energy. There can't be many happy faces in the locker room, if any, after that final 20 minutes.

On a positive note. Sanders continues to play pretty solid. He was big for us especially on the offensive end.

Sanders played good, I was pleasantly surprised.

Guyn on the other hand should never, ever, take 7 threes in a game. Where do some of these guys get their confidence from? He is a career 28% shooter. Max 1 or 2 threes a game and when you average only 17 minutes a game he should take no more than 1 three a game.

No doubt. It seems like when he makes 1 or 2 three's he thinks he is ray allen.

The cincinnati.com article said that Jermaine Lawrence has a torn ligament in his toe and could miss multiple games....not just this one.

Got the win on the road in conference play. Get on the plane and get the hell home. Keep it rolling!!!!

I don't know how I can be so pissed at the Cats after a victory, but they played like crap the 2nd half. And all you whiners, quit blaming the refs. There are lots of games in a season, and some calls will go for and some against you. Grow up! It's part of the game. Nobody likes whiners. If you play like crap you don't deserve to win. Simple as that. Fortunately we had a big enough lead that we held on. How we can play so diametrically opposite 20 minute segments is beyond my comprehension. But what we did learn is how we're going to play when JJ and Titus get in foul trouble. And the answer is NOT put in DN. He looked good thanks to Titus. I will give him credit for keeping his arms up the whole time he was in. Can't take up much more space than that. The answer was toss up a zone. We're not experienced at it, but it keeps the ball outside the perimeter - same as it worked against us. Was surprised to see both SK and TC choke at the FT line. Just one of those things like bad ref calls. Sh*t happens.

Turf toe keeps NFL players out sometimes half a season. I would be happy to get him back within 5 games for sure. Don't rush it

The refs had NOTHING to do with it I agree. We just sucked in the second half.

I was listening to the game at work, gonna watch it tomorrow. I would have been happy with a split with Memphis and Houston and we go 2-0 on the road without Lawrence in Houston, I'll take it!

I don't think they'll have focus issues either. My fear is that they are going to run up against a few of these teams that they should beat on a night when they are just unconscious from outside. That's when the inefficiencies on offense could lead to a loss or two.

My worst fears were almost realized tonight. Fortunate to escape with a win. Have to do a much better job of getting a good shot or at least getting to the FT line. Way too many possessions are being thrown away right now.

We LACKED the effort we saw in the first half plain and simple. They (UH) didn't know what to do in the first half. We came out of the half thinking we had it made and then we saw why that was a mistake.

I basically got lambasted today for suggesting that SK was not very good defensively, and for suggesting that he causes us problems at times by continuing to jack 3s when he isn't making anything. On cue, he does both tonight. Horrible defense and 1-8 from three. He hit some big shots when we needed something to stem the tide though. Thank God for David Nyarsuk. In a one point victory, I remember about 8 nice things that he did tonight. Wasn't a very good win tonight, but nonetheless, a win. UCONN couldn't get it done down there, so that's what we have to take away from it. Win and move on.

To much complaining every win will not be beautiful or every game we took one from a hot team on they home court again we will take this and learn from it but today we won and we live to fight another day with a good record and a hot win streak! GO CATS

Why don't we lambast every player then? Why lambast our best players first? I can think of a lot of players to lambast before SK. Who are you counting on other thann SK?

By the way...after I read it...I realize yu didn't lambast Sk...my apologies
