No idea what the last question about houston 3 point shooting.

UC shoots a better percentage than Houston

were 3rd best in the conference and Houston is 6th best. Not sure if she got that stat confused or what but we lead the AAC in 3pt fg made (and shot as well)

Also I'd say that, while they did schedule a terrible OOC, this Houston team is much much better than the one we played last year. I remember Jon Rothstein speaking on them and saying they could be the most improved team in the conference. I think we win. But I hope UC doesn't come out flat
Usually you see the glass half full but your comment about hoping they are not flat concerns me. Even the optimistic fans are preparing themselves for a possible loss. This is very scary. I think we win, but am hoping we not only win but turn things around this season.

I've been to every home game this year except the Temple game. It's been a heartbreaking home slate so far. It def has tainted my enthusiasm for attending tonight. I am still going bc I love UC but I seriously considered not going for a few reasons... We might lose. It's freezing outside on a Wednesday. Not sure if UC will give maxium effort. My heart can only take so much.

But I'll still be cheering my ass off.

If it is a 60 possession game, I don't like our chances for efficient offense.

Jacob a stat just for you.

In conference play our average time of possession on offense is 19.7 seconds.

If that was our pace for the season, it would rank 346 out of 351.

edit oh and our overall pace of 61.6 would rank 351 of 351

The big question of every game...Will Cronin let the players play? Or will he try to control every bounce of the ball?

That's what was brought to my attention from a friend of one of the players! He said Cronin lets them run in practice but during the game he coaches tight. They seem to play tight this year!

I found it funny in Cronin's media availability he said something like "Some people think if it wasn't for the guy coaching them, they'd all average 20 a game. And some are reporters in this circle." Maybe the media is starting to finally let the coach know that the fans this program does have left, are tired of seeing such a lame brand of basketball? Maybe he really does read our message board? Either way, can't be a bad thing. Maybe now he'll stop feeling so comfortable and start feeling some pressure. Time for Cronin to actually look at some stats, and coach for wins and losses!

What a crazy comment for Mick to make, is he sneaky throwing his players under the bus there?? Hey Mick, if your players don't have the talent to get it done on the offensive side of the ball recruit new ones.

Clearly though that's not the case because this team put up a lot of points in big losses to Butler and IAST. Our guys can score, the problem is Mick doesn't want them to.

We can still win if we come out flat But I would just like to see some signs of life from the tip.

But the crowd needs to fuel them. I hope the atmosphere is good tonight. Ill be cheering from the near tippy top of section 221

Yeah. He basically just said it's a talent issue. What the hell... Is it a talent issue? Is it an effort issue? Seems to me that it is a coaching issue.

I want UC to play with pace. i really really do.

But in the games where we tried to play fast and was more offensive focused, we sucked on Defense. Iowa state and Butler come to mind.

Where as in our wins over VCU, GW and Neb the pace was slowed and the defensive intensity was stepped up.

I never want to give up 70 points at home again. I want them to find a balance of a flowing offense but one that isn't mega fast paced and still limit possessions on Defense.

I think when we play fast, it just automatically makes the other team play fast and Our Defense doesn't work nearly as well when we can't dictate the other teams pace

Who cares if you give up 70 points at home as long as you score 72?? I'd much rather watch us win a game 72-70 than 54-51.

Some people (including our head coach) think that if you hold a team under a certain number of points they automatically declare you the winner. The name of the game is score more points than the other team. Offense wins in basketball.
