Most people predicted we would lose 1 or 2 of the remaining 10 games and now that it happened they are going nuts. Lol!! We lost a game on the road in conference to the second or third best team in the league. Not a season ending event. Learn from that game and get a win Sunday. Go Cats!!'

Oh and I was disappointed in our performance but it happens. Still have a special season within our grasp.

My two cents worth: Houston needed this win. We could have USED this win. Big difference, because both teams played the way they saw it. Sucks but that’s life.

Here is my concern moving forward…the three (4 if you want to count UCLA) teams we’ve played and lost are the types of teams we will see in the NCAA tourney. If we want that run we have all been craving, we simply have to be better. Our half-court offense is a mind bender against decent teams simply because we do not move the ball quick enough and force the defense out of position. It’s quite easy to defend—double the post so there’s a kick out and force JJ or CB or JC or JE to burn you from three, something we haven’t seen anyone one of those guys do consistently AGAINST QUALITY competition. It’s stagnant. Houston showed how to beat our defense. Constant movement and ball reversal with 2-3 shooters salivating.

Devil’s Advocate: beat Wichita and we may be able to look back at the Houston game and realize that despite going about 12 minutes without a FG, on top of playing very poor defense for a majority of the game and them playing at their ceiling, we only lost by 5 and that’s just the breaks for a the night.

Double Devil: Offensively, we must be better gentlemen. The NCAA is about matchups and if we see a team with shooters we may be in trouble, especially if they don’t mind a half-court game. We have to play inside out and when the ball gets kicked out, we have to be consistent (not spectacular) at keeping the defense honest. That opens it up for our bigs. If our guys don’t knock down open shots then the defense will double the post all day.

Here’s hoping last night night was just one of those days. Sundays response is going to tell us a lot about this group as we progress into the important part of the season. We simply cannot afford to lose at home. Houston also has a trip to Jekyll/Hyde Temple coming up so things can still break favorably for us within the conference.

Why don’t we have a top 20 offense? Look at Xavier and look at us. They have blueitt, but not exactly like their other players are way better offensively than ours. I love our defense. It’s great but way is offense not better, espeacially this year.

Because our coach doesn't know how to coach an offense. Cronin is a good coach but 12 years in and he's done nothing to change the offense to make it resemble something good. Yea, our team can run up points against the scrubs in AAC but any good team we play we see the same thing every. Single. Year.

That’s what’s weird. The coaches know 1000x more about basketball than I ever will but some of the fixes seem easy. Like stop walking the ball up the court and starting the offense with 20 on the shot clock. Or not run the same pick and roll, with the same 2 people for 10 straight minutes, when it did not work once. To go 12 minutes without a FG, is hard to do.

You know I really like Moore. Kids hustles, plays D. But I keep waiting to see this "pure shooter" make a damn wide open 3!

If he could hit those 3's at a normal %, it would really add some punch.

I'm looking for this Bearcat team to be in attack mode, take it to WSU and not that crappy tentative....almost scared at times offense.

Just two things: they shot over 41% from three...we didn't (4-15)
They beat the snot out of us on the boards

We came out last night and punched Houston right in the mouth at the beginning, but they they regrouped and hit us right back. Hate to say this but we got out toughened last night. Houston has been playing good ball recently and they NEEDED that win. I think this was a wake up game for Evans who hasn''t been playing well and his game will be back for the rest of the season. BIG game Sunday at home and a must win. The conference title is in our hands so let's take it. GO Bearcats!!!

This conference just sucks. Realisitcally, its not the end of the world to lose at a fringe top 25 tournament team it's just how we don't have many chances to make ourselves look good. At least this week do however, since we play WSU in 2 days. Thank God.

I know we have talent I know we all have been watching UC and feel confident about this team but have you ever once this year felt so pumped the next day that we beat a team. Maybe the Houston game at home but probably just because they were up 18 on us which should have never happened in the first place. Probably UCLA.

I mean I can remember going to work on Friday two years ago when we beat Iowa State. I can remember going to work last year when we beat SMU at home and Beat XU. What game have you truly been like heck yeah we just beat a really good team and felt on top of the world. Possibly UCLA, or home against Houston but I truly haven't felt that way once this year. Last night could have changed that. unfortunately it didn't. Sunday could. We HAVE to win Sunday.

That SMU waxing when they were at full strength seems to be forgotten. That was a team most of the media thought would make the tournament.

I honestly don't think anyone cares about losing a game or two or where we are ranked. It's more of seeing the same patterns against decent teams.

100% dude. I was with 8 buddies for the game and that's exactly what I said. I was with a Duke fan too talking us up saying we have weapons to answer this year and then we stall out and look like we did for the past 12 years. Again, it's fine we lost to go a good team, but it just put all confidence in my mind out the window that this team is different. IDK last night to me was just as depressing as I can remember.

According to Kenpom, Houston has the 21st most efficient defense, which is the second best (after UCF) that we have played this year. They're #6 in 2 point defense. They held Wichita St and Providence to under 60, and they held Arkansas to 65 in a game with 75 possessions (last night was 63 possessions). We didn't play well, especially on offense and rebounding, but that was a good defense on the other side. I'd say we got a taste of our own medicine.

the way they play defense, extremely physical with tons of grabbing and holding, it was very surprising to see mick refuse to let out guys run after the first 10 minutes.

playing halfcourt vs the way they defend is just hell. once they got set up we couldn't get anything going.
