my point is TC is not a true PG and if Jenifer comes in and is effective and the team productive he will play. If not he'll sit and learn. Being a freshmn will not matter.

The PG position has changed over the years. There are a lot of PG's these days that aren't "true PG's" that are freaking good basketball players.

Jenifer would have to be incredible to come in to kick Caupain to the 2 and Cobb to the bench. JUCO guys tend to have big improvements from Jr to Sr year, so it's likely Cobb is going to be pretty solid next year.

+/- last night

Clark +16 (31 minutes)
KJ +15 (31)
Shaq +9 (38)
Sanders +8 (31)
Caupain +3 (21)
Cobb +2 (28)
DeBerry +2 (10)
Ellis -5 (10)

Cobb was -8 in the 1st half. KJ was +17 in the 2nd half. Shaq and Sanders played all 20 minutes and were +13 2nd half.

He doesn't have to kick anyone to the bench to get minutes. If he is effective he'll play. All I'm saying is let's wait and see what he brings to the table before we decide he won't play.

I think he's going to play, more so than what Moore and Morman have this year.

I think that all 3 freshmen will play more than people think because they are all different than what we have now -Jenifer is much slicker with the ball than any of the current guards and left handed-Jacobs is much stonger than Shaq and bigger than caupain - Scott has size but more range than clark and more quikness than Moore.

I hope your right. The PG position has been manned by guys who's skill set is better suited for the 2 in my opinion.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks it, but I think Caupain does just fine as a PG. He only has to cut down on his turnover rate. His assist rate isn't bad when you factor in nobody on the team can shoot (it's higher than Cash's Sr year as a matter of fact). He has a good eFG%, good TS%, doesn't pick up fouls, good stl%, good FTRate. Not a lot to complain about to be honest (outside of wanting him to be more aggressiveness which I think will come with age).

That being said there is nothing wrong with playing 2 PG's either.

what I see from TC is a struggle to find a comfort in when to shoot and when to pass and get others involved. This is something that takes lots of time to develop. I don't think he is bad but if we really think his strength is putting up points then he really needs to be at the 2. Mick likes to have his off guards handle the rock from time to time so him and Cobb could both fill that roll.

Caupain was brought here to be the pg and that's where he will stay till he graduates

I think he will play some PG while he's here. I just think he is better as a 2 guard. He shoots well,he can get to the rim. His issue is when to to those things vs when to pass and get others involved.

Bearcatboy if my Kemp comment hurt your feelings. I'm sorry. I was joking. Meant no harm.

I'm really encouraged by our style of play last night. I was all ready to count our slow possessions and come back after the game and make a huge point. I scrapped that pretty early on. Something as simple as looking to throw outlet passes can make a huge difference. Shaq had 8 FT attempts. He will never, ever be able to do that against a zone defense in the halfcourt, with 2 other big guys in the game. It's no wonder he has taken so many jump shots this year. A small lineup with Clark looks awesome against a team like Houston, but if Clark's defensive rebounding can be what it was last night, I love the idea of Clark and Shaq being the ones around the rim offensively.

IMO everything we do as our offensive gameplan should revolve around the leading scorers being as follows:
1 and 1a Shaq and Clark
2 and 2a Cobb and Caupain
3 and 3a KJ and Ellis
Then whatever we can get from everyone else.

The style of play changed to up tempo as soon as Ellis was ejected, which struck me as odd. Ellis is a guy that'd be better in up tempo. Either way I was happy to see them push the tempo once he was ejected. It made the difference in the game.

Also glad Cobb started, even though he didn't have a good game. Shows the coach can make adjustments. All in all I still thought after a bad game he was no worse than KJ. KJ scored some points but is a walking turnover. Never seen a guy dribble off his feet as much as he does.

Sanders continues to disappoint. A couple good games his senior year but that's about it. It's a shame about Mormon because I think he would be starting to get more of Sanders minutes at this point.

It's all good we are all friends

When they pushed it a bit when he was in he just traveled with it. If he's not getting an offensive rebound or catching it directly under the basket, his offensive game is extremely limited.
