How Will They Finish? Cross Our Fingers

How is a team playing to the level of it's opponent not a coaching issue though?

I think it probably is. They have always found it hard to keep the throttle down once they get up...and perhaps they don't get up as much for "should win" games. I think the coach should be able to address that...and I have heard him mention it before. Perhaps he needs to find a better way to get the point across. We put it on cruise control against Presbyterian...we didn't think there was any way they were going to come back on us...they just didn't have the talent.

This team needs to keep stomping a team when they are down. If Mooj is reading this...I don't mean that literally

That was funny shit there. They need that killer instinct, and it comes from the team leaders. I believe Mick has it and I can see it in Kilpatrick and Jackson. I just don't think Gates and Cash have that intensity as seniors to want to flat out destroy their competition. They want to win, but putting a beat down on another team is another level.

Good point...I don't think Cash has it either. I agree on SK n JJ.

If they listen to mick and follow his gameplans, this team well lose no more than 2 the rest of the way

What gameplan? Like standing around the perimeter, zero ball movement, zero slashing the lane, zero low post action? Yep. That's the Mick offense.

Mick actually does a really good job at scouting reports, he really knows his basketball...the team rarely listens which is a HUGE problem.

Do you honestly believe he tells them to do that? They need to execute a little better thats it. they should win 6 more and be safely in

Tonight is as much of a must win as they've had in a long long time. Its their last regular season game that would be considered a bad loss, and given how many they have already, they can not afford another.

Hopefully they rebound from the Marq beatdown. 11 BE wins is still a very reasonable outcome and probably gets them in barring a ton of conf tournament teams that wouldnt be in winning their tournament for a bid.

12 or more probably locks them up a bid, but that's a longshot at this point.

Despite how tough the game will be, Villanova would be considered a bad loss too.

bad loss according to who?
It's a road game
77 in kpom
79 in Sagarin
96 RPI

No matter which ranking system we look at, its a top 100 team and on the road. That's pretty much never a bad loss.

UC's only chance of a bad loss is tonight against Providence, besides that the USF game could be an elimination (or NIT play in game) of sorts.

No argument, Providence would be much worse. Ignore the formulas for a second though and it does not look good to the committee to lose a team hovering around .500 with an under .500 conference record.
